I will definitely be buying this. I was in Chris’s record shop a couple of days ago, and asked if they were going to be selling the book, but even he doesn’t know if they’ll have copies.[:/]
He has a shop? Awesome.

if someone gets their book, folllow up with us here - as I want to snag a copy as well.
Can we keep THIS thread about Chris Connelly’s book (or at least hard drug abusing shock-rockers) and take the petty arguments and childish name calling to the thread that’s already been established for such nonsense (or better still, to private email so the rest of us don’t have to scroll past it).
I’ve been pretty lazy when it comes to reading lately, but i’ll definately be checking this out. Just wonder if the barnes and noble here will be getting it.
Should be a fun read, Chris seems like a likeable guy. Seems like a good travel read.
Everyone has read that travelogue thing with Revco back in the day right? If not it should be on the site somewhere… that was some funny shit.
He has a shop? Awesome.
he works at/for/partly owns (i don’t know which) Reckless Records
chris manages reckless.
Manson + slipknot… EWWWW…
Come on Peligro, even you must realise the big difference between these two, for one manson was around a good 10 years before slipknot babysat a bunch of angry teens. At least he is intelligent, not just
“you god damned mother fucking maggots better fucking fuck off before I fuck your mothers, show em how you can vomit in your mask after drinking water from a jar with a dead crow in it clown” clown vomits all over self
“FUCK YEAH, TIME FOR A BEER KEG SOLO POINTY MASK” “NOW LETS THROW IT AT GUY WHO JACKS OF HIS NOSE MASK GUY INSTEAD, YEAAAAHHHHH MAAAGGGGOOOTTTSSSS”
Oh, cant remember if I mentioned it before, but while I’m sure manson was influenced by those bands (was it zombie?) from a bio I saw I’d say it was his interview with Groovie Mann that made him go in the direction he did. (nothing big, just interesting tidbit)
heh heh i’m roffling at the “beer keg solo”
Manson HAD some relevance back in the 90s. It’s been awhile but Antichrist Superstar is a pretty good album. His first three are, but then he pulled an al. And you hit the nail on the head with slipknot, heh. But at least they aren’t limp bizkit or korn, laff!
korn is a far more interesting band than Slipknot is.
hey, getting back to chris , he just celebrated his son Angus’ first birthday.maybe the book is the present?! chris can spend time calmly explaining his exploits when angus is old enough to give him the backhand.
funny.chris is such a great guy, sure he’ll figure it out.can’t wait for the book. let’s send that guy some butch kid clothes. yeah.
korn is a far more interesting band than Slipknot is.
No! Well…back in the 90s they were…but towards the topic of chris. I have a real good feeling this will be a very interesting and good read. I’m anxious for it.
Chris Connelly (Author) “Concrete, Bulletproof, Invisible and
Fried: My Life As a Revolting Cock” [Paperback]
Estimated arrival date: 11/07/2007
can’t wait to see who he credits in this book.and who goes down.
Manson is total camp. People who are too uptight to understand the value of camp or who take him at face value or assume he is serious are tight asses.
Manson is the fucking shit, his autobiography rocks, and ‘Mechanical Aimals’ is a brilliant rock 'n roll album in the truest sense.
Like it or not he has had much more cultural relevance and mainstream impact on society than any other Industrial Rock group.
Don’t judge the book by his cover. Manson’s appearances on Bill O’Reilly, Bill Marr, Phil Donahue and in Bowling for Columbine are classic and hilarious.
His social commentary is light years ahead of Al’s drunken ramblings about his drug addiction and Bush bashing.
He brings a sexuality to his music that Ministry could never muster, or austere bands like Jesu for that matter. No amount of headscratching prog rock/post rock/shoe gazer almalgamy can match the raw appeal ad sexuality of a rock song like “The Dope Show”.
I like all kinds of music and all kinds of aesthetic approaches to music. I am a fan of all the aforementioned bands. I just find it sad when otherwise intelligent people write Manson off completely. He is a complete fucking rock star.
Besides: Don’t lie. You will all enjoy watching his inevitable descent into drug problems and his relationships with 19 year old girls. Evan Rachel Wood is much hotter than Al’s heroine groupie and far less annoying as well.
got that.
never liked manson. probably never will. doesn’t mean his input isn’t appreciated.
I don’t think either Ministry or Jesu have ever gone for “sex appeal” (well maybe on “With Sympathy” at times). Saying Manson’s better cuz he packs more sex appeal into his music is like saying Manson’s better because he wears more make-up than Ministry or Jesu, it’s a non-sequitor.
My feelings about Manson is that he’s just about, though not quite, as good as his producer. Means there’s some music of his that I like but in general he doesn’t do much for me.
manson was a spawn.and he knows it.
he’ll do well on the las vegas circuit…
