Its just pure fucking machine rock at its finest. Why they werent big players? alongside NIN and Ministry is beyond me. Just look, the Ten Ton Pressure ep came out in 89 as did PHM Burnout in 94 as did TDWS, i think 10 Ten Ton ep blows PHM away and Burnout i wouldnt say is better than TDWS but is just as good. Now i know NIN were totally mainstream but still. They shit all over KMFDM and are just as good as 80s Ministry. What is Louche up to these days? havent heard a thing since Oxidizer wallstreet?again?
They were the “headliner” a year or two ago when I went to see USSR at the knitting factory in Hollywood. They were all crusted up and sounded like shit… No love lost!

alongside gravity kills but nowhere near minstry/nin class
Naw, they were better than Gravity Kills - those guys were just one of those straight-up rock bands with a few electronic sequences mixed in to give 'em an edge.
I’d put Chemlab more in the category of a lot of other American industrial bands that never quite made it to the top tier - Penal Colony, 16Volt, Xorcist, etc. Good, but lacking whatever crossover appeal was needed to get those soundtrack deals and 120 Minutes video plays.

Gravity Kills were just another one of those NIN clones, not even industrial AT ALL. One of the worst bands in the fake industrial catagory alongside Manson and shit. I rather listen to Fall Out Boy.
and that’s why i compared them to gravity kills [:P]
Always been a pretty big Chemlab fan…and finally got to see them as the headliner of U.S.S.A. Thought they sounded fantastic! Jared hasn’t had a real band for years, but the last album he did had the guys from Acumen Nation (another never-quite-made-it Coldwave band) and it worked pretty well.
The Detination Days Tour? Yea that tour sucked a whole bunch of venues canceled, and my city was one of them, i was soo bummed that day. Im sure Jared was pissed.
I’m actually awaiting my copy of “Burnout at the Hydrogen Bar” as I type.

Burnout At The Hydrogen Bar will not dissapoint, i garantee it or your money back. Its what i call sex, drugs, and industrial. Louche comes up with some sleezy lyrics man you’ll be getting your groove on in no time, and when its all said and done, it will leave wanting some major pussy. Slap it high!
Sounds like good, clean fun… as well as what the TKK does to me.
Chemlab… heard “burnout” some time ago, thought it was ok.
Ogre wore Chemlab’s “Fuck Art Let’s Kill” shit in the ICYDFLSU video, and I remember being at a Pigface show in the 90’s and seeing a sea of those shirts in the crowd, most of whom probably didn’t even own any Chemlab records but purchased the shirts to mimic Ogre. What a bunch of sheep! [laugh]
Jared Louche and the aliens “covergirl” is a must get cd… I think invisible records has it for sale in their $3 cd grab bag still… he covers everything from iggy pop to frank sinatra. does a damn good job too

That’s cool if you actually like the band, I just got the feeling lots of these guys were being total poseurs, as it was in the 90’s when “industrial” was getting big and lots of people wanted desperately to prove that they were into the cool underground shit first… that sort of nonsense.
reminds me of all those pantera fans that would wear whatever death metal or whatever shirts phil would wear… like you’d see a shitload of eyehategod shirts even though nobody really listened to them

I wouldn’t be surprised if the biggest selling shirt of the '90s was a NIN t-shirt. They were EVERYWHERE

Yea, kinda like how I bought a Buck Owens tshirt cause Al wore one like it. Yea, it’s gay, but I kind of think the shirt is cool. I don’t even like Buck Owens, to be honest.
I should wear my Hank Williams (I) shirt to the next RevCo show.

Speaking of band shirts, I saw some kid the ither day, couldn’t have been more than eight or so, rockin’ a Pink Floyd shirt. Amused me, but pissed me off all the same.
