Megadeth has a new album coming out soon called “Endgame”. They just released a song called “Head Crusher” for a limited time. GO FIND IT. It’s quite honestly the best thrash ANYONE has made since the late 80’s. It’s better than ANYTHING Megadeth has done since probably Rust In Peace. It’s unbelievable.
always been a megadeth fan…yeah his last few releases have been hit and miss but I actually like sleepwalker better than head crusher.
I really like the “Rust In Peace” album… I downloaded this track but I haven’t listened to it yet. I’ll get to it later. I couldn’t stand the “Countdown To Extinction” album except “Foreclosure Of A Dream.” videos not bad either from what I remember dave’s just chillin in a big Ez chair while the “All-American family” is losing their homes on the screen behind him…good shit maynard!

I checked out the song out of curiosity (free download on their official page) and its not that bad. Reminds me of Coroner, which is a band that IMO was a little inspired by Megadeth but just did everything far far better in every way.

Well I’m glad that some of you are at least interested, but I’m really waiting on what all of you think of the track. It really is going to blow you away.
Didn’t think too much of the track to be honest. Maybe I need to give it another listen but I doubt that’ll do it - still haven’t recovered fully from United Abominations, one of the most unintentionally hilarious metal releases this side of St Anger.
I thought the vocals were too dry.
Could have used some reverb to give them a little more presence.
After a few listens…I’m liking it. Chris is really good. Looking forward to this.

Well, depends on what you mean by solid. I’d say the last good effort was Youthanasia, but it’s very weak compared to what Dave and crew CAN do. Countdown is a good solid effort but it’s basically the same thing for Megadeth as the Black album was for Metallica. Anything after Youth… is shite. I love r.i.p. but I’d be more likely to say that the last truly solid album they had was So Far, So Good… So What?

I completely agree with everything after the word “but” I wouldn’t say countdown is solid at all. There’s maybe 2 good songs on there.

Well, it’s a mainstream album for them essentially and while Sweating Bullets and Skin O’ My Teeth get under my nerves and such there are some great tunes on the album. How can you NOT like Ashes In Your Mouth, Pyschotron, Architecture Of Aggression, High Speed Dirt, and Symphony Of Destruction? And Foreclosure Of A Dream is brilliant. Despite the fact that SOMT and SB are played as hell (much like Enter Sandman and Sad But True for Metallica) the only truly weak songs on CTE in my opinion are Captive Honour and This Is My Life.
