So the two suspects are Chechen immigrants.

I’m kind of scratching my head too, that this guy is STILL in hiding. I mean, yeah, it was only a few hours ago that the last episode of flare up occurred (in which black hat and a cop were killed) but they have the whole city on lockdown, a billion cops on point, and there is probably only a square mile or less that he would even be located in. Every time I see the crowd scramble and police cruisers on the move I think they’re finally going to take his ass out.

If you look at what has allegedly happened since all of this started last night it seems like they weren’t finished after the marathon.

What he said (and you sort of have to paraphrase his thick Russian-accented shouting) or what he meant, as I don’t remember his exact words, was that the boys are not representative of Islam or Chechnya and that they should not be considered representative of either.
He pretty much summed it up when they asked him what he thought drove them to do this and he shouted more than once, “BEING LOSERS!!!”

True. It’s really just a matter of time now. They’ll canvas the whole place and probably (I’m guessing) find him today. But he’s certainly going to get taken soon one way or another (i.e. dead or alive).
As to why he didn’t leave town . . . it seems he and his brother really thought they could get away with the bombing. They were hanging out, twittering, Facebooking, etc. and it was probably only when they saw their photos being tagged everywhere that they realized their little scheme maybe wasn’t pulled off as anonymously as they’d hoped.

I think once they robbed a 7/11, hijacked a couple cars, shot and killed an MIT security officer, and shot and threw explosives at the police, is when they kind of blew whatever cover they thought they had.
