Boston Marathon bombing

[reply]A suicide bomber is not a martyr.

They did not go through extreme suffering or torment until their death at the hands of others because of their religious beliefs.

They were not burned at the stake nor were they placed in a gas chamber.

Yes, it is. Just because you say something “is” or “isn’t” doesn’t make it so. Maybe you should do even the slightest bit of research before making such definitive statements while refuting what I’ve said?

Thankfully (or surprisingly?) Grumpy has provided you with some info that shows that they do believe that suicide bombing is one of the many ways in which on can become a martyr. Oh, and that they belive that they are rewarded for this.[/reply]

Go ahead, look up the definition of martyr. I dare you to educate yourself.

You should Triple Dog Dare him.
That would be totally badass.

The Islamic radicals would hate Christmas Story heh…

While living in Abu Dhabi I always loved watching the women in abayas and burkas riding down the corniche on bicycles and those group pedal cars. Made me super happy!

^I like that too.
It also cheers me up when I see them playing a bit in the waves (I see this mostly in Kuwait).

Okay. Though, I’m aware of the definition and you’re clearly not. I’ll look it up for you:

martyr
mar·tyr
noun

  1. a person who willingly suffers death rather than renounce his or her religion.
  2. a person who is put to death or endures great suffering on behalf of any belief, principle, or cause: a martyr to the cause of social justice.
  3. a person who undergoes severe or constant suffering: a martyr to severe headaches.
  4. a person who seeks sympathy or attention by feigning or exaggerating pain, deprivation, etc.
    verb (used with object)
    http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/martyr

Now that I’ve helped “educate” you. What was it your point was?

See that first one? “Willingly suffers death”? Can you see how that could be used as a way for lunatics to think that that applies (and maybe reasonably so) to them and that by killing themselves in some ridiculous attempt to spread Islam because they believe it is under attack, that they might rationalize it as martyrdom?

I didn’t find anything about gas chambers yet, either.

‘Willingly suffer’ does not equate to ‘suicide’.

We’re not defining suicide.
Please stick to one word at a time.
Also, read all the definitions of the word instead of just picking and choosing whatever you think makes you look like you have a point.

You would argue with a signboard and paint the motherfucker yourself. Say something intelligent instead of coming in to spout some slightly relevant (but typically not), obvious nonsense like you just went and dropped some massive knowledge on the whole discussion. When will you learn?

But to argue with me when I explained it enough for anyone to understand and then have even more examples for you to see, right above you. No.fucking.thanks.

Does being condescending to me over the internet make you both feel like big men, winners, etc.?

I did not see Gunnar’s post via my mobile because I had already clicked on reply before he posted it.

Don’t argue with atom mooney. He knows all there is to know about women so he knows your arguments before you do. Its a losing battle.

Samoth (rhythm guitarist of Emperor) burned a church with Varg of Burzum and only got 16 months.

True. And Bard Faust got out after 9 years for stabbing a gay man to death for supposedly hitting on him. He has never (that I know of) expressed any remorse or sympathy for taking this life.

I’m not here to boost my confidence or reaffirm my manliness. And I don’t make it a point to be “condescending”. I do, however, sometimes take issue with perceived arrogance and pride of some people on the board and delight in holding up a mirror to such people’s faces in an attempt to get them to see the truth.

I don’t know if you realize it, but you come across many times as arrogant and impossible to talk to. When people (like myself and Atom) ask you to explain your seeming non-sequitors (i.e. the pool metaphor) you are sometimes unable to.

Below is what you said to Atom, when discussing the definition of Martyr. And let me remind you that YOU were the one that made a point of telling him he didn’t know what the word meant. YOU told him to look it up in the dictionary. I really don’t give a crap who fights with Atom. He’s not my bitch and I’m not here to protect him or look out for him and I’m not looking to form teams or alliances with anyone. He and others can fight with (or have discussion with) whoever they feel like.

To be totally honest, I only looked it up the word because, while I have a conventional understanding of how the word is used and what the general public accepts it to mean, I did not know that the dictionary said about the topic. So when I saw your challenge to Atom, I was interested in clarifying it myself. Well, the dictionary pretty clearly showed that you were out of line puffing yourself up and acting like the authority on the topic. If you would step back every once in a while and accept that you DON’T always know everything and are NOT smarter than everyone else, you might not come across as a closed-minded wannabe know-it-all.

It’s like staring at one of those retarded MC Escher paintings with the impossible up-down staircases and people walking on the ceiling or sitting at 3 legged tables that can’t exist. It just makes you dizzy and kind of sick.

HAHAHAHAHAHAA!!! Damn you, Eureka!!!
I remember that video when it was fresh. My buddy was obsessed with it. We even watched a “The Making Of Dancing On The Ceiling” mini-documentary showing how they did it (basically the whole set is constructed in a large turning box). So, yeah, thanks for the 7th grade flashback.

There was a quote in Lords Of Chaos where he says “I have to stand up for what I’ve done. There is no remorse” He also once said that “homosexuals are nice to put knives into.” Some of those Black Metal guys are homophobes.

Also, Varg only did 14 of his 21 years.

You and Mooney should form some sort of retard internet duo or something. You both are pretty much always wrong and you both think you are so much smarter than you actually are. It’s pretty funny actually.

Being islamic/Muslim is kind of more abrasive or shocking than being gay these days, don’t you think?
