In an open letter on his website, the drummer said he will not continue with the planned album and tour unless he receives a “signable contract … that reflects some dignity and respect toward me as an original member of the band”.
The problem, Ward said, is he has not signed Black Sabbath’s new contract. While he doesn’t detail the issues, the current terms are “unsignable”: “I stand to lose my rights, dignity and respectability as a rock musician,” he wrote. “My position is not greed-driven. I’m not holding out for a ‘big piece’ of the action (money) like some kind of blackmail deal … I want a contract that shows some respect to me and my family, a contract that will honour all that I’ve brought to Black Sabbath since its beginning.”[/i]

Even if he was on it Sharon would just get some scab to record over the tracks in a few years so she wouldn’t have to pay royalties.
I’d still rather hear Halford/Iommi/Butler/Appice.
Of all that I’ve read and heard of Bill Ward I believe him with sincerity. Even in Ozzy’s book he’s shown to be the most humble and non-material dude ever.
Sharon is just looking to put him through the ringer and bleed him dry. I’m sure Geezer and Iommi have much better established lawyers and teams to protect their interests. Sharon probably sees Bill as easy to bully (as he hasn’t done a whole lot else to establish any position of power in the industry). That’s weak.
I wish Ozzy was smart enough and had the cajones to put that bitch in her place every once in a while.
