You know it’s fresh when it’s straight from the truck. If there were only truck women.

I’m still laughing about Truck Meat from awhile back. What a great album title that would be.

we got this great pizza here too, you can get it in any supermarket… called ellios… they’re square pieces you cook in a microwave… high regards… right up there with ramen noodles

i don’t know why i didn’t bring up the truck meat when this got started. but, i’m glad someone did. lol. carmangary - you’re a good sport!

We have a place here called Deano’s. Pretty good shit. One pizza in particular worth mentioniing is their T-Rex pizza, a meat lovers with just chunks of meat on it. Makes all meat lovers pizzas look incredibly half-assed. This thing is wonderful and quite the monster. Sadly, I only eat there on very rare occasions, but maybe one day i’ll order one…hell, maybe tomorrow!

TRUCK MEAT

You rang?

You rang?

Ohohoho, Miss Velvet.

[laugh]

FUCK, I want pizza.

I just gotta defend Deep-Dish Pizza from some of the hating on this thread…

First of all the crust really isn’t that thick if done right. The pie itself is thick, but the crust itself makes sort of a shape like this || , or [], like a pie crust, not too thick in any one area. Pizzeria Uno is way overated and while they may have invented the deep dish, Gino’s East and Lou Malnati’s (and probably some other places I haven’t tried, like the place Bourdain visited) have perfected the deep dish. Have any of you deep dish haters ever tried these places? If not I would reccomend keeping an open mind until you have.

It seems like whenever people compare pizza it’s always NYC vs Chi deep dish, which I think is an unfair comparison because they are really totally different dishes, like comparing apples to oranges. Besides, the original “Chicago Style” (correct me if I’m wrong) is the Chicago thin crust, which is absolutely delicious, and which I’d take over the soggy, doughy, foldable NYC pizza anyday, but then again I haven’t had any pizza from the famous NYC places that always get such high reviews, so I’ll keep an open mind.

I’ve had Dominos pizza in Australia and it does not taste the same as American Dominos pizza. The tomato sauce tastes different.

We have some mom and pop places here that are pretty decent.

We also have the following chains: Hungry Howies, Dominos, Pizza Hut, Papa Johns, Little Caesars, Donatos (out of business), Carrabbas, CPK, Old Chicago Pizza, Macaroni Grill, Sborro, Godfather’s Pizza, and Uno’s.

before i made my own pizza at home, i liked dominos. but, dominos blows because of it’s heavy involvement in operation rescue. i can’t throw my money at an organization which actively funds scare tactics at abortion clinics. those clinics aren’t confined in services geared towards abortion. that’s a small percentage of what they do.
wendy’s, as a business, has the same problem with me.
that’s me.

Deep crust or thin crust depends on how fucked you are. If you’re 3 sheets, its got to be deep crust.

The correct answer is Lou Malnati’s Chicago Deep Dish.

NY pizza sucks.

Best chain is Papa John’s.

In the Midwest smaller towns pizza king has ruled for decades…thin dusted crust, cut in squares, diced pepperoni, extra super fine ground sausage, beef , bacon. And they do a bbq pizza with the cheese on top.
Bbq instead of pizza sauce has been my goto all my life.
The onions are sweet and diced paper thin, red and green bells are super tiny dice.
Toppings always to the edge basically no crust.
I’ve never found anything like pizza king.

:open_mouth:
Not any papa John’s I’ve ever eaten. But, I will say it’s better than pizza hut and dominoes, but that’s a low bar to get over. Around here Little Caesars is the best fast food pizza

Agree with little Ceasars, who else has done a bacon wrapped pizza…
Wish that would come back.

Detroit style.

As far as chains go, that’s easy - Jets, at least around here anyway.

Little Caesars is decent too.

EDIT: If you are local Buddy’s is the best Detroit style by far. https://www.buddyspizza.com/

I grew up in the Detroit area and worked at Little Caesars when I was 16. In the Detroit area, I loved Peppina’s (closed after a fire at some point after I left Detroit in 2000) and even Vito’s in Lincoln Park – the latter had a white-trash feel to it, but was great comfort food.

In NYC it’s Una Pizza and Kesté.

I live in Boulder, Colorado, now, and the pizza is various shades of mediocre. Definitely miss both NYC and Detroit.

I don’t know about other places but the Little Cesar’s down here is straight up dog shit…

Just made this ( THIN & CRISPY EAST COAST BAR PIZZA) and it’s ten times better than Little Cesar’s, Papa John’s, Domino’s, Pizza Hut, California Pizza Kitchen, Chuck E. Cheese’s, Uno’s, umberto’s…
