RE:
And as for this shitty fucking FNM and Janes Addiction god awful ‘reunion’ fiasco…excuse me while I get a bucket. As if there isn’t enough regurgitated crap out there in teen pleasing modern rock radio la la land, we now have to fawn all over two strapped for cash dinosaur ‘altera rock’ bullshit bands who died out ten years ago and were only briefly resusitated to feed their dwindling egos and pay off their Amex Gold cards. Fucking hell. This is what gets you off? Anyone would think Perry Farrel and Dave “Im friends with Alyssa Milano” Navarro would be too busy brushing their hair and hanging out with Hollywood hotties to bother attending a festival down under.
In case you haven’t worked it out - I’m not going to this. But I’ll be sure and remind my next door neighbour. He has two young boys who think Slipknot and Korn are “awesome”. Soundwave will be right up their alley.
This is a pretty accurate definition of the contingent that has presented itself at Soundwave. They seem to be attempting to legitimate it by inviting creatively bereft rock dinosaurs playing purely for filthy lucre.
The FNM reunion is disappointing. Bring back Mr Bungle. But even then, reunions are fucking stupid and pointless. Best not to take the good memories out from the aspic…
However, everyone’s entitled to their opinion. This is just mine, and I will certainly not pay out on anyone who thinks otherwise.
Clutch, Eagles of Death Metal::
shit yeah, great fun to watch, but… they’ve been down here heaps of times, I ain’t paying a shitload to go to some festival to see them again.
I think HIM and Type O are pretty gay.
But not as gay as:
Trivium
It Dies Today
The Devil Wears Prada (fucking christian hardcore?)
Alexisonfire
Isis is just boring. Meshuggah is forced King Crimson technicality bordering on self-indulgence.
Don’t get me wrong, I can see why people like a lot of the ‘metal’ bands: they make melodic, listenable music, it’s nice.
But that’s why I dislike it… tough looking guys, posturising in an attempt to make up for music that isn’t all that brutal in actuality.
I’m going to get severely flamed for this: like I said, these are my opinions, you can shoot them down if you want, but I am not going to call anyone an idiot or disrespect them for thinking otherwise.
