It was originally a b-side on the Stainless Steel Providers single, but showed up on the Rykodisc reissue. Very cool track that sort of shows the direction Chris would go in with his solo stuff.

Thanks! I was racking my brain trying to remember the song, but now I know why I couldn’t recall it. I never bother with any of the re-issue stuff. I don’t feel like buying the albums I already own just so I can get one bonus track for $20 or whatever.
I’ll see if they have it posted on YouTube or something, though.
Kilts?
Assuming Al wore them true Scotsman style, you’ve got a piece of clothing there that’s guaranteed to have touched his junk - and at the low price of $200, that’s less than a nice custom kilt would cost!

Grumps, you might be able to recoup the costs if you check the linings really closely.
I’m sure a fiending Al has already done that multiple times over![:)]
keyboards for 300 bucks though! that’s a deal right?
I was wondering about “slave” also. Is that an unheard track or was it a working title for a tune we already know?
Late,

I knew you guys were gonna be confused about this, especially since the auctioneers clearly were. “Slave” does not refer to any sort of song title. It’s an audio engineering term to describe the reel of tape. A “slave” reel of tape that syncs up with the “master” reel. It usually contains additional elements and tracks of the song.
would like to know what the other 2 songs are (or became) [url http://www.backstageauctions.com/catalog/1085-ministry-1992-nwo-slave-original-2-inch-master-reel/ai/0/11140/] here
I don’t know about in the states now but 2" tapes cost between £100 and £150 (approx $250) over here (UK), so assuming that bidding doesn’t go too high that could quite possibly be a bargain. plus i actually have a couple of otari mtr 90 tape machines here that i could play it on… mind you, if it is only samples or overdubs or somesuch, rather than a complete song it wouldn’t be that useful. and i don’t have the money to waste on it at the moment, of course. plus they weigh a ton and shipping itself would be a small fortune. bah.
Please note that the purchase of this reel does not include any transfer of publishing, distribution and/ or songwriters’ ownership. The reel is a collectible, albeit a most unique and historically significant one.
I’m curious what one actually IS allowed to do with such an item. I mean, obviously you can’t start stamping out EP’s and selling them online, but if someone was able to upload these songs somewhere and share with other fans it would be totally sweet.
Someone would have to be a pretty obsessive fan to buy these weird giant tape formats and go through the hassle of getting/ setting up equipment to make it happen or leasing out a studio or some such bullcrap.
Assuming one doesn’t already have a studio ready to roll, what’s it going to take for someone to actually hear these songs? $1000 or something? $2000?
I LOVE Lard, but there is nothing I love that much - even if it was supposedly the greatest song in the universe (which it probably isn’t or we’d probably have heard something of it earlier).
The song titles certainly are interesting on some of these. What happened to “Pussfuck 1”? Part of me thinks that if Al had just rounded up all these oddities and released an album of them it would have sold better than the last couple Ministry offerings and brought in more than this auction will. But maybe that’s just me and there aren’t that many weirdos interested in hearing unreleased Ministry tracks from the dawn of time.
Look at how excited everyone got about “Fix”. That’s because it is a documentation on part of Ministry’s career that most of us “fans” find special, exciting, or interesting.
Although some of us still enjoyed the live shows of the last 5 years and maybe liked a track or two on the albums, I wouldn’t classify any of the output or activities of that time as exciting, interesting, or special. No boundaries were pushed. No conventions challenged. No limits broken. It was all safe, predictable, and cliche.
I GUARANTEE you that a CD of oddities, rare trax, demos, etc. would have (and still would) fared infinitely better than this stupid remixxx garbage he’s shilling nowadays.
Why? Because the target audience is the same. Casual listeners to a band don’t buy stupid stuff like remix albums. Hardcore fans do. The same type of fans that would buy a compilation of rarities and unreleased weirdness. The problem is that he’s alienated many of his hardcore fans to the point that they’ve no interest in any of his new stuff. But we get all excited about something that we haven’t heard “from back in the day” before everything turned to dog crap.
Anyway, he wouldn’t release any of these rarities and such because he’d have to pay a buck or two to Paul, Chris, or someone else whom he’d rather see dead. The dude is a bitter old bastard and it is really stifling his potential for greatness.

No, it wouldn’t.
Early Trax did not sell well http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ministry_discography. (though note that this page is a bit out of date).

I don’t know the numbers for anything, but I’m pretty sure it sold better than “Mixxxo of the Mole”.
Besides, that was stuff that most of us had from before. If a CD of stuff that a lot of us did not ever have a chance to get or that was NEVER released came out, most of us would be interested at the least.
I always got annoyed when people would say all the bands they like, and throw in"old Metallica". Now I say that shit about Ministry.

OK, compared to the Mixxxes disc, you’re probably right.
I was thinking as compared to new material.

HAHAHA!!! True dat, Homie!
ouch! That hit close to home!
Reminds me also of Joe Dirt . . . .
“I like Lynyrd Skynyrd, Def Leppard, Van Halen, NOT Van HAGGAR!!!”
Check it out, The Last SSucker, looks like they snuck out another remixxx album!
This unique collection has been personally put together by Angie Jourgensen, president of 13th Planet Records, manager of Ministry and RevCo and spouse of Al Jourgensen and contains the following 12 CD/ DVD releases;
Wow. How they manage to stretch 3 albums into 12 discs of material is truly amazing.
[quote]Further included are three additional CD releases by 13th Planet Records, featuring Prong (Power of the Damn Mixxxer), Ascension of the Watchers (Numinosum) and False Icons (God Complex). Everything in this lot is in pristine condition. [quote]
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHA!!!
They should just bury all this crap in a landfill next to all those 80’s “ET” Atari cartridges.

looks like it’s a spelling mistake since the original last sucker isn’t mentioned.
