You know the drill, I’m doing an interview with Al for the magazine I work for, anything you guys want me to ask him?
Obviously most of the interview I will plan myself but I’ll be happy to ask as many of your questions as I can…

why he has animosity towards paul
why most of ex-members have animosity towards al
when is the fucking buck satan going to be finally a proper project with an album
when is he going to re-release his albums with some outtakes/bonuses, etc shit (extended version of step/nursing home, you know the stuff).
he said he has “wall full of tapes” (the actual quote from the interview", well, when is he gonna release that? cuz he only pulled out 4 new tracks for early trax compilation.
i mean, since ministry is no more now, all we have to do is to dig out the previously unavailable stuff.
there.

I think I will try to avoid confrontational questions like that, but I’m considering asking a question along the lines of “after nearly 30 years of Ministry, who were you favorite people to work with and why?”

I’ll definitely ask that
yea i understand, i guess it’s ok then
what i really wanna know is what’s his opinions on each on every one of his albums (twitch onwards)… so right now, from a different perspective he would seriously describe what influenced him, how did the recording go, etc… but none of this “oh yeah, spoon suxed cuz democrats were in the office but now bush is in and i churn out some rawking tunes yee haw” crap
Believe me, I’d also love to hear what he has to say about his albums, even With Sympathy (perhaps now he might have a more objective point of view?) but I suspect I will have fairly limited time to do the interview in. If I can squeeze a question like this into the interview be sure that I’ll do it.

Well that’s the stock answer he gives to more mainstream media outlets. The interviews for fan-based sources tend to be more interesting.
Will you consider asking him about the farewell tour? I’m curious to know if he’d consider throwing in a surprise song or two from the old days, since it’s the last Ministry tour ever. Maybe mention that a lot of us have been suggesting an updated version of Halloween for an encore, or even one last nod to Twitch…?
Thanks,
1002
Have you ever considered letting someone else with considerably more talent in that area write the lyrics?
Is that your real hair?
What About Us - What the fuck??!?
Do you realise that your last three albums combined have apparently sold less than half of what Psalm 69 had sold after only 12 months?
What would you say if I told you I thought your career without Paul Barker is about as relevant today as Boy George’s without Culture Club?
Roadhouse Blues - What the fuck??
Heroin or crack?? Whaddaya think??
Is it true than when you approached Michael Moore with an offer of working together on possible future projects aimed at ‘exposing the evils of the Bush empire’, even he told you to give up already and get a life??
Mrs Jay - What the fuck?!?!?
Don’t you think it’s time to chuck in the towel now that even Buckcherry are starting to show you up artistically??
amongs all the tapes he seems to have, ever chance of hearing som WELT material?
any chance of Twitch, TLORAH and TMIATTTT remastered?

I think I’ll concentrate on questions dealing with the band’s past, since this is probably one of the last rounds of interviews he’ll do, at least as Ministry… But I might ask some questions about what people will be in the band etc.

I can already answer that for you now - Yes, Chris Connelly (amongst others)
- Is that your real hair?
Once again, I can answer that - NO.
- Heroin or crack?? Whaddaya think??
Actually, I think I might ask him something about drugs.
- Don’t you think it’s time to chuck in the towel now that even Buckcherry are starting to show you up artistically??
Did you miss the part where he said Last Sucker is the last Ministry album?

As I already answered Gila - yes, I’ll ask him about re-releases, re-masters etc.
i kinda like the idea of pressing him for tour setlist info or something.
i’m really afraid that this last setlist will be the same we have had for the last 4 tours, just with a few of the new songs replacing stuff from RGB.
i realize we’ll never (dammit) see them do ridiculously awesome shizz like vex & siolence or cannibal song or what have you. but dammit, there’s a whole career’s worth of tracks to pick from.
sure, i like theives, stigmata, so what, hero, psalm, nwo, etc. but i have seen them soooo many times live.
mebbe something like “hey, since this is your last tour, many old school fans may be showing up for one last hurrah, any plans for digging up some old tracks to play for them?”
i would also like to know about more revco, especially if they gonna open for ministry again this year. that would be proper.

I second that one. A new RevCo album with last year’s touring lineup would be sweet, too.

I think I will try to avoid confrontational questions like that, …
why do an interview in the first place then?
this already sounds like something I don’t wanna read. first of all I see nothing confrontational in questions like that and secondly…
WHY THE FUCK DIDN’T YOU AXE MINISTRY WITH INTEGRITY AFTER PSALM69? ALL OUTPUT EVER AFTER HARDLY MAKES IT PAST LUKE WARM PISS STATUS.
that’s confrontational!
just my 2 cents

Yeah why not, a little persuasive manipulation cant hurt our chances of hearing some great old tunes
@drummkopf
This is not supposed to be an interrogation. Personally, I dont give a shit about the animosity between the musicians because as far as Im concerned, Ministry is still a band and not a soap opera…

well I guess then the wording was just a little misleading. still though I think there is nothing wrong with asking these questions if one is interested in the answers. and I furthermore do think that the departure of a creative head is very much relevant for a band’s future and output. I did interviews myself for almost 15 years and lets just say half the time my interview partners sort of hated me for what I asked. but who gives a shit. if one doesn’t like unpleasent (note I am NOT saying DISRESPECTFUL) questions then one shouldn’t make themselves available for interviews. not everybody is interested in asking the same dull questions all over again that are mostly answered by reading the promotional info sheet anyway. there’s actually a shitton of political questions that are potentially way more confrontational than the above ‘soap-opera’ ones.
fair enough, and of course there is nothing wrong with asking ‘unpleasant’ questions either, but there is also no reason for doing it in a rude or disrespectful way. If I do ask him about Barker, I’ll do it politely Ill try to avoid the whole political side of things entirely though.
like I said, confrontational doesn’t have to equal disrespectful. unless one wants to diss an act in the first place there is really no need to phrase questions in an impolite manner. and should one have such foul intentions with an interview the whole thing would be retarded from the start. so I am totally down with you on this one.
may I ask what publication you are writing for?
Don’t ask about Barker. It’s been covered. I think people that are still asking about it are looking for some sort of big blow-out, or petty drama or whatever.
They worked together for a long time, and they have different ideas of where they’d like to go creatively now. Of course there’s been speculation about family, relationships, and sobriety bandied about as well, and I’m sure most of it plays a part in them seperating.
Read some old interviews and fill in the blanks, people.
I’m one of the several people that’s really interested in the early years. Are there studio takes of the unreleased songs? What happened to Same Old Madness? Will those things be released on 13th Planet? Since Al has essentially disowned a lot of the early stuff, how does he feel about the interest level that a lot of the fans have in it? How much of the Twitched bootleg was based in truth (with the whole “as it was originally intended” stuff)?
And yes, if you can single-handedly convince him to open up for Ministry '04-'07 with Ministry '83-'86, please do.
oh, the twitched question is a good one! i’d like to know al’s opinion on that unauthorized release.
