i am a student of international politics, and this really seems like the wall coming down in berlin.
i called one friend who always maintains the “persian” designation.
thoughts? pro or con.
well it would be nice to see some form of change for the better in the area and I totally agree with our presidents stance that we should but out of it at the moment, being the mere use of america backing reform would be enough to squash it in some people’s eyes. But as long as we don’t have to resort to some nuclear “a bomb bomb iran” (as a former presidential candiate sang to the beach boys tune once) and maybe if we have to focus on problems outside the country, i think north korea seems to be a growing concern, as well as china.
and just a thought we went into iraq and tried to help establish a new system and it didn’t seem to take, and what’s the big defference between us going to iran and doing the same thing and then getting stuck with 2 places where we’re not wanted and a left with our thumbs up our asses trying to hold the damn from blowing
someone else here probably has a better perspective on our relations with iran.
it’a all political. make no mistake about that. my friend in chicago (not afra)considers herself persian, and has no current clue about what’s going on.no family there. in iran.but, there may be some info from the twice removed cousin of hers who’s a professor. somewhere.in the us.
i am feeling something here…
it’s lou reed singing “sweet jane” and allowing others to pursue their deal.
Ditto porkspam. I think we need to pull ALL of our troops out of iraq and send them into go get our reporters back in N. Korea! I’m sick of that Korean elvis!! I think we should just go beat his ass!! (But then again that’d be the same situation as Iraq! then what? People aren’t ready for democracy so they’re doing NOTHING to achieve it!)

the funeral of john sirca.
i apologize. it’s sirica.
look him up and have a party as to why.
btw, king smurf, where were you on august 15th, 1992?
i recall lollapalooza.
Seemingly there’s enough people in Iran who want Mahmoud Imalittlecunt out so hopefully they can achieve this, if they could it would be the best thing to happen in that region for so long. Would not be surprised if the rotten little shit and his minions have been messing with the votes, but I don’t think anyone on the outside really knows.
All power to protestors. Don’t give up.
Obama’s right. Putting “U.S. backing” into the equation would fracture any possiblity of a good outcome.
The iraq ordeal ended up a mess with too many unnecessary causalities. Obama’s probably thinking history would only repeat itself if we were to do something with Iran. The people in Iran are sort of “uprising” I guess, so I say just let it be for now and see how it plays out. N. Korea’s off doing their thing, but in the long time, we’d easily wipe em’ out if it comes down to it. Iran would be the biggest concern, instead of a small country like N. Korea. Just seems like we’re trying so hard to avoid another cold war, but imo it’s simple to avoid. They’re still testing, and personally I don’t see what the fuss is all about. Maybe I haven’t been paying as much attention as some, but is he threatening people? Is Kim in the same league as Saddam was to Iraq? If he’s just testing, then whatever. One country allowed to have nukes? Not very fair, huh?
The people in Iran are sort of “uprising”
that certainly is a good reason to help! BUT until we’ve been asked to help we need to stay away because if we impose our “help” then it’s just interfierence.

i liked how the majority of voters witihn the opposition candidate’s hometown apparently voted to keep the current in power. and in the press via vote counts, they overwhelmingly wanted to oust the current leader?
something is amiss in that portion of persia.
no different from here.
vote counting gets touchy for many.
king smurf.
again. where were you on aug 15, 1992?
you posed the question…
How to make the world a better place in 5 easy steps:
- Nuke North Korea
- Send Hilton, Kardashian, and Octomom to the moon
- End all reality TV
- Shut down Ticketmaster
- Release Early Trax 2 and In Case/YGDSOB DVDs
1002

I liked how they finished counting 40-80 million hand cast ballots in under 4 hours! That’s efficiency right there!
