Gatorgum was like that also…you would get that rush of sourness and the nothing…
The gum that came with baseball cards was the worst…
Oh, damn! Gatorgum was amazing! Probably been about 8 years since I’ve had it but I’d occasionally come across it at sporting goods stores.
And baseball gum was more like a fragile ceramic strip lightly dusted with some powdered sugar. May as well be putting razor blades in your mouth.[/reply]
They discontinued Gatorgum…totally bummed me out…whenever I went to Sports Authority I would get like 10 packs on the way out at the register…loved that stuff…
and yes the baseball gum was dangerous shit…should have come with a warning label haha…
Speaking of PC foods, anybody ever have that shredded beef jerky that came in the round can that looked like dip??
That shit was great. sugar cigarettes, gum cigars, dip jerky, and little wax alcohol bottles!
so you could be like mom and dad.

Jerky Stuff! I found that (Jack Links’ version thereof) at the Dollar Store last week.
We used to hold it and flick out finger on the top just like our buddy’s older brother did with his can of Copenhagen.
Holy Ballz!!!I forgot about the jerky dip too…that stuff was so good…shit,I wish I could find that stuff down here…
They don’t make Dinosaur Eggs anymore - too much like Gobstoppers, I guess?
I always thought they should make a weird, angular Gobstopper like the ones in the movie.

1000% agreed. My buddies and I used to discuss this topic all the time. The main points always being:
Okay, I’m doing better now. I bought a bag of Swedish Fish, and a box of Good & Plenty and a box of Mini Charleston Chews.
I think I’m gonna stock up on some jerky and some Reese’s Fast Breaks.

Yeah,I got my fix too…snagged some Jolly Ranchers, some Lemon Heads and some Fireball’s…
Nice! Lemon Heads are a top go-to candy for me too.
I especially like the giant individually-packed boulder-sized ones.

Yeah, definitely the boulder sized ones…last week I tried some Lemonhead fruit flavored one’s that I had never seen and I didn’t dig them very much…cherry, grape etc…kind of defeats the purpose of the Lemonhead brand but oh well…
Oh and I forgot to metnion earlier that I hate Rock Candy…blech…

If they were all bagged together, you probably had “Chewy Lemonhead and Friends”. Yeah, I fell for that one too a few years back. It’s total crap. The texture is all wrong and it’s total garbage. There’s a chewy version of Atomic Fireballs too. Lame.
Lemonhead’s had some okay friends . . . . Johnny Appletreats, Mr. Melon, Alexander the Grape. But then they started effin’ with the branding of 'em and now (if you can find them) they are all 'Heads. Melonhead, Grapehead, Applehead . . . What the fudge???
And this chewy bastardization of the candy is completely unacceptable.
Yes,that is exactly what they were…a total abomination…never again on those…
and a chewy version of Atomic Fireball’s!!!That is unforgivable…in fact it’s criminal…
Good explanation on the Mars/Milky Way. I remember when they had almonds here.
I love Take 5. I bought a bunch of them for Halloween.
I miss Summit bars: think kitkat with nuts on top covered in lots of chocolate. Loved gatorade gum and the pink lemonade stick jolly ranchers too.
I’ve never heard of Summit.
Does anyone remember FLAKY FLIX?
Technically a cookie, I guess, but holy crap were they good! A layered chocolate and vanilla wafer cookie dipped in chocolate and covered with crushed corn flakes.
I can’t remember who made them originally, but they went absent for a long time and then they were bought and re-issued by Mother’s. It just wasn’t the same though. I’ve never fully recovered from the loss.
Never heard of Flaky Flix but goddamn they sound incredible…wish I could get my hands on some of those…
Did Summit come in an orange package?and there were 2 bars per package…I vaguely remember getting some of those about 10 years ago…
There should be Fudge and Vanilla flavor variants. The vanilla was my favorite. Pour yourself a glass of milk and go to town.

So another company made these before Mothers? I always hate that when something is discontinued and then someone brings it back but it’s never quite the same…
They did that with the original Mr Pibb, which was my favorite soda of all time…they have Pibb xtra now but it’s not the same…the original recipe is gone forever…
