Alleged Relapse tour setlist

Posted on Facebook by a music ‘friend’ who’s really into nu-Ministry:

I didn’t think the tour had started yet, did they play a warm-up show somewhere? The photo came from a promoter at 13th Level Booking and Promoting.

1002

if this is real, sucks. if it’s not, i bet it IS real, and therefore, sucks.

It looks believable…

this looks like a long show. Al must be on speed if he’s gonna keep up with that… you’d figure they could through in nursing home or step as a joke about his relapse/nod to the hardcore base.
Late,

Cool! Now I can plan my evening.

Not a surprising list, but at least he mixed up the tracks in the main set instead of just playing them in reverse chronological order.

“Psalm 69” and “Heroes” are a surprises, though.

That’s funny shit, Gunnar. Yeah that list is gonna get pruned, it always does. Wishful thinking on his part though, expect at least 4-5 songs to be cut

Not counting “United Forces” (I think cover songs should be counted separately), here’s what you got . . .

New Album: 4 tracks
RGB: 4 tracks
TLS: 3 tracks
Houses: 3 tracks
Psalm69: 4 tracks

Mind: 2 tracks

Rape: 0 tracks
Dark Side: 0 tracks
Animositisomina: 0 tracks
Filth Pig: 0 tracks

Twitch/Sympathy, etc. (we can’t really count these): but 0, obviously.

So, yeah, I would have certainly liked a more varied and adventuresome set, but I guess it’s gonna be “Headbangers’ Ball” instead.

I’m just kind of sick of hearing the same set list for the past 8 years. I would much rather have MORE tracks from “Relapse” than hearing crap from Last Sucker and Rio Grande again.

And I know it’s kind of mandatory (for a newbie it would be like going to see the Stones and not hearing “Satisfaction”), but I’ve heard “So What”, “Thieves”, and “Just 1 Fix” at every show I’ve been to (I think it was 11 at my last count) for the last 20 years.

Naturally zero tracks from my favorite albums…[:(]

I feel like this is BS, but who the hell would make this? I’m glad I waited to see a setlist before I thought of buying tickets. I just don’t see the point in playing songs about Bush still…

So much for hitting songs off of every album.

OK - this is just stupid.
Why devise a setlist that may actually push longtime
fans from attending a show?

If the setlist was reasonable, by anyone’s standards,
there would be a better turnout.

Is this just ego on Al’s part? Does he think he’s Sinatra by doing
it his way? Way to go, chief…

did you guys REALLY expect anything better than that?

looks legit to me fellas.
dont think i’ll make it this year.

Call me naive, but yeah I did expect (or hope) for better.
This tour is obviously a cash grab. Al has stated many times
that he’d prefer to put ministry to bed and focus on producing.

So…if that’s the case how is it remotely logical to tour with this
type of setlist considering the overt grumblings from fans during
the last tour? Especially considering setlists are shared immediately
online after shows.

I mean really?

He’s never really liked playing the “older” songs though… so, it can’t be too surprising that he mostly wants to play the past three albums. It’s a “fuck you” . But at the same time, he’s not playing songs he’s probably sick of playing. From a fan perspective though, I wouldn’t even pay 15 to see that.

Mind: 2 tracks

ah, i remember saying this on the PA long ago and getting blasted for that. i agree 100%.

in reality, the difference between al & hundreds of my dollars is roughly 6-10 minutes of his time, and he repeatedly, time and time again, has gone out of his way to NOT make an effort to please anyone but himself, which in all fairness is his right and privilege. this behavior has cost him any money from me or my immediate friends for the last few years now, but of course al is too hardcore to worry about money, right guys? and along with the money he’s leaving on the table, he doesn’t have to worry about having any more pesky fans to deal with.

seriously. 2 songs (estimate 6-10 minutes) = 2 tix + merch bought and paid. i wonder how many other would be in the same position?

expensive ass tickets too. fuck.

I believe this to be a true fact: If a Ministry song doesn’t enter the setlist when it is brand new, it NEVER will. And if a song ever leaves the setlist, it’s unlikely to come back. Data from the Bush Trilogy:

Also looks like they’re pretending the Cleopatra stuff never happened. Would have liked to hear the 2010 mix of Halloween live.

Also looks like they’re pretending the Cleopatra stuff never happened.

I’m glad we’ve at least got that in common.
