All Time Ministry Video...

Ministry - Filth Pig

Yes

You’ve posted this before, and THERE’S NO FUCKING VIDEO FOR FILTH PIG!!!

live version…

E-P chill the fuck out…

This thread is genius. Really brilliant, well put together, and totally worthwhile. Thank you!

My favorite Ministry video is probably “NWO” but honestly they never had very good music videos…

“Reload” I’m guessing was the biggest budget they ever had for a video and boy is that a stinker.

Most of their videos are pretty much crap, but when it works it REALLY works. It was the video for “Burning Inside” that converted me instantly from a guy who had no idea who the band was to a guy who would follow them to the edge of the world. Seriously, that video was a life-changing moment for me . . . . It had the world’s most terrifying looking band, fronted by a seriously demonic looking biker cowboy lunatic singer, playing behind a wall of chainlink, giant fire-breathing robotic dinosaurs, insane fans climbing and jumping off the fence, lighting themselves on fire, a screaming dude strapped to a spinning wheel of death, other naked torture victims howling in pain, tribal fire eaters, and some of the most primal and brutally violent metal/industrial grooves I’ve ever heard in my life . . . . I was absolutely transfixed and in love. It was the soundtrack to the Apocalypse – Thunderdome on Acid. I wanted to be a part of that. I NEEDED to be part of it. And I immediately decided that I was.

The two RevCo videos from Linger Ficken’ Good are the bomb.

The Last Sucker, obvs.

It’s cool. I’ve seen it before. Forgot about that one. Didn’t really stick out to me when I saw. I think NIN really ripped that one off for their video of “Wish”:

Regardless both videos are to me cheesy and Mad Max-ish in a campy way that is not threatening or dangerous in the least. I actually prefer the NIN one because it has a higher production value and less of a rainbow all-over-the-place color scheme.

I am very likely viewing it from a very jaded perspective having happened upon this stuff years after the fact. I discovered Ministry from the “What About Us?” music video so I came in late to the party…

Either way I like music videos that are more polished, less punk or DIY, and less cluttered, so Ministry’s videos generally don’t fit my personal taste.

My favorite music videos are “Ashes to Ashes” by David Bowie and “The Dope Show” by Marilyn Manson if that’s any indication…

Road Warrior and Thunderdome imagery is prevalent in many rock and pop culture references. Before Ministry’s “Burning Inside” there was “Wild Boys” by Duran Duran . . .

(This is still one of my all time favorite videos.)

Simon Lebon almost died when that wheel got stuck and he was strapped to it underwater…

@Void-Ashes to Ashes vid is fucking brilliant…there is another vid from Scary Monsters that was made by the same director with the same production values and the name of the song is escaping me at the moment…there is an excellent new Bowie doc called ‘5 years’ where they discuss the Ashes to Ashes video…

That’s right! I do remember reading that. That’s pretty hard core!

Yeah,I heard it was pretty serious…not urban legend…the pre-cgi world was so much riskier heh…

Seeing Burning Inside at the age of 4 didn’t suck me in. It wasn’t until I saw snippets of N.W.O. on Beavis & Butthead with the ending guitar sample that made me wanna check em out. As for my favorite video, I’d have to go with Flashback.

I’ve always loved the “Just One Fix” video too. It just made me wanna get strung out on Heroin and get in Al’s big 'ol Sedan for a Hellride across the country.

Me too…I think the Ministry vids from the whole 88-92 period were perfect for the band…

Oh and the Revco vids are always funny as hell…

I vote “Stigmata”. It’s all schizophrenic, and makes Chicago look like an industrial wasteland.

I thought the “Flashback” video was pretty cool with everything sped up.
