Al Suing Paul?

This is like pink floyd suing each other, which just about went nowhere (I think). If this is truly about royalties, no one’s winning a single thing out of this and the attorneys are just getting richer.

And god…if they had former band members from throughout the past…Al would be screwed. For some reason the final episode of seinfeld is coming to mind.

i can guess which way it will go.

I don’t know, It went against Biafra…for “Failure to promote”
The “owed royalties” was not part of the case because D.H. and rest were paid after the mistake in accounting was found.

What a sad end to Ministry indeed. I too am a huge die hard fan of Al’s and regardless of that i believe Al is indebt to Paul for this reason…when Paul came we got “Land Of Rape And Honey”, “Mind Is A Terrible Thing To Taste”, “Psalm 69”, “Filth Pig”, “Dark Side Of The Spoon” and “Animositisomina” not to mention all the classic side projects really kicking off. “Twitch” although Al’s, had Adrian Sherwood all over it and we all know what came before and after Paul Barker’s departure.

I suppose what i’m saying (i may have it all wrong but i’m sure i don’t) is Ministry made alot of money (underground band money wise) when Paul combined his artistic input with Al’s. So for this to happen seems nasty, although like alot of people have said all the details will eventually unfold and maybe Al is in the right???

If it’s truly about details and Al’s going to try pulling a “roger waters”, then this is going to go absolutely nowhere. Since it’s public record, i’m sure we’ll find out eventually. Could be something else and if Al’s in the right…somehow/someway, it’s likely due to a mistake on Paul’s part with Al bitter, trying to capitalize and cashing in. But it still puzzles me of how Al took so long. Paul left before HOTM (04). Al’s been shit-talking paul almost since then, so you would think throughout all of this time, if Al really had a case against paul, he would’ve done this sooner, which truly leads me to believe it’s likely a bunch of BS.

heard that.

as it was stated, maybe it took this long to prepare for this lawsuit… and for the first few months al wasn’t really shit talking about paul. all he’d say was “it’s like a marriage that just got boring and doesn’t work anymore”, “we decieded to go our separate ways”, all that calm stuff. later it was all “just a fuckin’ bass player”, “fuckin’ employee”, “people thought that he was ministry because he did more interviews in 95 while i was fucked up on smack all the time”, etc.

it’s all like watching a bad drama movie that you know it sucks but for some reason you wanna see the ending.

I remember interviews with Chris about the sessons for Linger Fickin Good, of how the most work got done when Al wasn’t there. According to chris, the majority of that album was him and paul, with a few contributions from Al. We all know Al plays guitar and isn’t half bad either, but even over the years you’ve seen even that role dimish. With all of the interviews and such, it really does look like it was Paul who held it together and kept the name alive. If it weren’t for paul, Al most likely would’ve been found dead or OD’ing in some random alleyway most likely.

None of this “He gave me looks like i’m from fucking pluto” bullshit. You were an addict and hard to deal with, and you’ve even expressed that. Make any sense…

heard that.
and @ thirty others who were there over the years heard that.

i remember chris saying that on his board as well. something like “linger ficken’ good was great, we had so much fun in the studio working on that record, alot of creativity and great studio atmosphere, mainly because al wasn’t there most of the time”.

That might actually be where i’ve read it. I lurk there from time to time.

on the topic of suing, I think Paul should sue Al for him using a platform to try and make himself look taller than Paul during the Dark Side of the Spoon photo shoots

nice.
lots of midgets in the rarefied world of ROCK.
