Al sings Get Up Get Out & Vote

Today, MINISTRY releases a brand-new video to spread the message, using the music and lyrics from the notorious song that originally appeared on the band’s 2012 release “Relapse” .

Stay tuned to MINISTRY 's official social media accounts (@WeAreMinistry) the next two Tuesdays (October 27 and November 3) for additional surprises that will launch leading up to Election Day.

To provide the perfect soundtrack to get fans engaged in the upcoming voting season, MINISTRY has also created a new playlist, “The Soundtrack To Your Election” , available now on Spotify . With 30 powerful selections, the playlist features personal favorites of Jourgensen as well as MINISTRY 's own rally cries including new single “Alert Level” and tracks from the highly politicized album “AmeriKKKant” , the band’s most recent full-length release.

Probably the most annoying song Al ever wrote…and yes I’ve heard Test…

It’s dumb, but not worse than “99 Percenters”.

This one gets my vote for dumbest lyrics.
But a convincing argument could be made for pretty much every track on “Relapse”.

At what point do Al’s buttrock albums, far left ramblings, conspiracy theories, and teenage edgelord antics start to impact his legacy? Because when I’m playing the classics like Twitch or LORAH sometimes his shenanigans creep into my head and I vomit a little in my mouth.

We’re reaching that point lol

whoever did that video must have liked REM.

Nah, the stock news footage of riots and political unrest and such has been a staple of so-called Industrial videos for over 30 years now.

The “lyric video” format has bloomed in the last 10 years with YouTube as bands get lazier and lazier so they just use some goofy graphics tools and drop the text over whatever.

I don’t let it impact his legacy.
Just because he does some embarassing stuff nowadays (often partly or largely as a function of whatever dame he’s shackled to) doesn’t detract from the awesomeness of the 80’s and 90’s.

Also, I think some of us give Al a slightly larger berth since he came from a goofy synth pop start (which he was embarassed of for a long time) and has gone in so many directions since.

I know not everyone agrees, but I still think he’s awesome.

I’m with ya, man…I even find things to love about his butt rock stuff…is it big, dumb and ridiculous? Well, sometimes…but it still holds a strange appeal for me…I think Al has done a handful of legendary classic albums…he has done some serviceable stuff and he has done a couple that are straight up crap…but the ones that are great, legendary masterpieces are so monumental and exhibit the best of what the genre has to offer that I can easily overlook a couple of bum albums…those classics can’t be tainted for me…

What exactly are his “far left ramblings?”

I find it amusing that the right cant mention the left without throwing “far” in there. The only thing far in this country is the RNC and their power hungry visions of total control over everything. Anything thats not right of center is “far left” because that’s how crazy the right have moved.

Nobody brands like the people who own the means of production. I’ve said before I’ll say it again. When you’re as extreme right wing that our country has become even the middle looks left.

grmpy is triggered once again.

Nobody brands like the people who own the means of production.

Spoken like a true 5th column. Revolution when, comrade?

Well, he did write a song in praise of Antifa, haha!
I still think that was before he even realized (if he ever has) what Antifa actually is in manifestation. I think he just liked the concept of people standing up aggressively against fascism, but I don’t really think there was much substantive politics in it. It was more like a globalized take on “Nazi Punks Fuck Off”. I do like playing with shifting variables, though, and would love to see the reaction to that song if it came out in 2020 versus almost 4 years ago when people were hearing the term for first time.

Still the worst song in the Ministry catalog from one of the twin worst albums in the Ministry catalog.

What’s the other album?

I’m not on the right buddy lol. Center-Left maybe

well that was a serious question i asked… What exactly are his far left ramblings?

Seriously, what exactly is that?

I guess it’s these kinds of statements that kind of illustrate my point about just how extreme right the country has moved. It’s kinda just understood now that Antifa are baaad no good people… the worst… picking on innocents. Really? How is that even considered when you take a look at what’s in the midst of the US? How are they even blip on any radar when we consider not just the history of hate and hate groups in America but the current practice of it?

Antifa… Antifascists. a group of people that are against fascism. They’ve busted a few racists in the mouth for being racist assholes… What else?

Let’s look at the facts here…
They don’t have the body count that ANY white supremacist group has. (Do they even have a body count?)
They hold no positions of power in any instance whether, it’s local sheriff of some backwards ass shantytown, The President’s right hand man in the white house, or even a senator in Iowa…
They have no legitimate influence over anyone or anything. They’re a loose knit group of people that are sick of the hate and the injustice from those in charge.

So, Antifa, a brand new group against hate, that has not even a fraction of the history that triple K morons do.
A brand new group that has not wrought even a fraction of the misery and death that actual domestic terrorist groups have brought upon others in 140 years.
A group that has done nothing but “hurt” property and bust some assholes in the mouth… They’re the threat? They’re the problem?

So, let me straighten this out… We can let these actual terrorist groups carry on because killing fags, jews and muslims and people of color is ok an acceptable American value and they’ve been doing it for 140 years up until and including today.

But a new group that’s against this hate, killing and injustice and has killed nobody and has not the power influence or legacy that triple k morons have… They’re the big threat we have to put down?

In what world is this even an apt comparison? So Antifa are horrible caue they are trying to deny the speech of racist assholes… and that’s someohow worse than hate groups that snuff out the lives of people they don’t like? Antifa needs to be no where the national conversation on country problems/domestic terrorists.

I honestly don’t see it.

The lyrics to “Git Up Get Out 'N Vote” were written by Angie, not Al. I remember when the Relapse remixes were released as free downloads, this was the only song that never got one, which I assumed was related to their then-recent divorce. So I’m surprised that Ministry is currently promoting it, rather than just disowning it (given that it was never a well-loved song anyway).

The video is pretty weird in how it basically presents Biden and Trump equally, which I’m not sure was the intent.

Jesus, even if it was, I think that would be a hard argument to make… one could probably make that comparison between Hillary and trump (and I did multiple times, myself) because both are self serving, greedy and in love with themselves, but even then there’s no way Hillary could come close to the level of damage that trump has done and will do for future generations with his 3 SCOTUS judges… How fucked up is that? A bunch of these near death in age fuckers get to vote in some fucked up court members who will make us live by their fucked up out of touch laws longer than they will have to.

Our voting laws are stupid! once you reach the point where you have more time behind you than in front of you you should be done voting. You wanna vote some shit in that you’ll have to live with for the rest of your short life but the rest of us will have to suffer through many years of our own life? that’s bullshit! “Hey, I got 6 months left of life, you should live by my wants for the next 60 years!!” (Yes, All that’s sarcasm and I’m not really serious)
