I was really looking forward to that Dusters album seeing the light of day. I thought they sounded more like how Buck Satan should have sounded than the Buck Satan project actually ended up sounding.
Considering this video only amassed 18 views (several of which were mind) in the last year and a half, I’m thinking it’s not been super well promoted.

There should be an XXXTREME GOTHIC METAL band called The Trenchcoat Mafia.
I’ve not looked it up, but I’d bet large that there’s been several bands or band attempts that have used the name. Any large scale news item of such (especially one so catchy) gets taken (many times over, in some cases). I remember seeing flyers for “The Tim McVeighs” as well as “The Unabombers”. “Trenchcoat Mafia” is even more accessible as a band name. Gonna check . . . .
I once met some dude who had seen Mindless Self Indulgence when they had their 15 minutes of fame and said that they proclaimed themselves the “New Trenchcoat Mafia.”
I really fucking hated that band.
I used to see people kissing that band’s ass all the time. But because their photos and band name were equally lame I never bothered listening to even one song. I think American Headcharge would fit in the same category for me.
MSI was pretty much music for teeny bopper rivetheads who either drank Smirnoff Ice just to fit in, or took ecstasy to be “hardcore.”

they’re catchy, at least they were. Like I said, I don’t know anything about any other albums other than the Frankenstein album.
I liked the Frankenstein album too. Their sound is way out there, and I can see why the appeal might be limited.

MSI’ biggest hit featured the line “I like my coffee black just like my metal” if that rings a bell. They also had an earlier song where the singer repeats the word “Faggot” a bunch in a high pitch voice. That one is kinda funny, but the other song really annoyed the fuck out of me. My group of friends and acquaintances would always try to make the connection with me and that song because I was real heavy into black metal at the time. I guess it’d be like someone assuming you like NIN because they see you wearing a Skinny Puppy shirt, or a shirt from (insert random Wax Trax band here). Or maybe even as ridiculous as someone assuming you’re a “gothic devil worshipper who listens to Marilyn Manson all the time” just because you wear black clothes and go against the grain.

Mindless Self Indulgence is less funny in the song titling department than AC, but better in the funny sounding song department.
