Al Jourgensen Interview -- Vampire Freaks 8-2013

They have a song called “I Hate Jimmy Page” that cracks me up every time it pops up on shuffle.

Someone in the aforementioned group of friends and acquaintances once quoted that song to me in the middle of a stupid debate. I don’t really remember how it started, or what it was really about for that matter, but Jimmy Page somehow got brought up. I went into a “Jimmy Page is one of the greatest guitarists of all time” rant and he starts reciting what I would assume to be the chorus of the song. Typing this is making me chuckle on the inside for multiple reasons.

“Faggot” and “Jimmy Page” are my two favorites from the album. The high pitched repetition of “faggot” makes you just want to walk around singing it… which is kinda dangerous [:)]

I like the starting of the disc, also…

“who you calling a faggot? Yo, Yo, while you’re out gay bashing I’ll be fucking your girlfriend… in the ass.”

They were the Blink 182 of industrial.

I listened to the Jimmy Page song.
Not my thing.
Sounds like a lot of the goofier nu-metal industrial stuff that was being pushed in the late 90’s.

I’ll try some other tracks later if I get bored.

I like that they used (at least I’d heard) that they used atari 2600 game samples to make all of their music. creative.

Be warned, it’s catchy as hell and you’ll probably find yourself quietly singing “Faggot Faggot Faggot” under your breath without even realizing it and then wonder how long you’ve been doing that and if anyone actually heard you. [:)]

This.

I really hate MSI. I remember my now ex-girlfriend had a subscription to Alternative Nation back in the 90s, and one issue came with a promo cassette (ha!) of MSI. I checked it out, and immediately hated it. Years later I met a lot of people, some of them friends, that love this fucking band. I hate those people too.

What was up with every douchey industrial gothic nu-metal punk band of the late 90’s and early 00’s thinking it was so gosh darned clever and cute to have themselves drawn as goofy little carton characters? Newsflash. It’s not cool, clever, cute, or funny. It’s gay. Retarded and gay.
