Wow Al looks weird as hell !! Like he should be in Jim Rose Freak Circus or something…But really lean so that great !!
I think we can expect an album similar to ‘Rio Grande Blood’ based on his description, but without the annoying Bush-bashing. ‘Relapse’ is an awful title and when he says that he treated it like a joke but Scaccia really liked it my hopes sank even lower. Scaccia strikes me as a buttrocker who probably didn’t even understand the good Ministry material when they made it.
My hopes are low. I expect maybe 2 or 3 good songs on the whole disc, as was the case with ‘Rio Grande Blood’. (“Palestina”, “Yellow Cake”, “Khyber Pass” minus the cringeworthy “where’s bin Laden?” lyrics. which basically ruin the song for me…)
With the tour, I’m guessing we’ll hear the songs like “NWO”, “Stigmata” “Thieves” etc. I expect nothing from ‘Filth Pig’, ‘DSOTS’ or ‘Animositisomina’ to be played live, which is a shame. Nor anything before ‘LORAH’ (duh…)
I will attend this tour though because I only saw Ministry on ‘Houses of the Mole’ tour and I just want to see whatever passes for “Ministry” now and bring some friends to the show to thrash about like morons together. Ministry is one of my biggest musical inspirations so even shitty renditions of the “hits” is worth it to me to see before it’s too late.
Looks like he replaced his chemical addictions for body-modification addictions. Very '90s, but good for him nonetheless.
I wish somebody would ask him point blank why he doesn’t hire a real drummer. I honestly think people would have a better opinion of RGB and HotM if they had the punchiness of real drums (or at least if he’d used more "industrial"style kits if he absolutely had to program the beats).
Have you finished the Buck Satan record yet?
“Yeah that’s been done for a while now, it’s going to be out on the eleventh of the eleventh of the eleventh (11/11/11) on 13th Planet, on our own label and it’s going to be e-store only, download only, that kind of shit.
Good. He finally got out of the old school “it’s not a real album if it’s not sold at Best Buy” mindset. I’ve been saying he should do that for years.
I found this part interesting :
But without a Bush in office what’s your muse?
Trust me I got plenty of Republican’s to rail at. Look at Wall Street look at the complete destruction of the middle class in the world, I mean we have a ruling oligarchy which happened in the early 1900s with the robber barons. What these idiot greedy bastards don’t realise is that if they make a class of poor and a class of super wealthy, who’s gonna buy their product? Theres no middle class, there’s no money. Thats the Republican strategy. In the political process and the right wing too with the Murdochs and the Camerons and the shit u got going on over there. If you’re 1 % of the population and you own 80% of the wealth, who’s gona buy what you’re making?
I reckon Al is right on the money here !
I will be curious to hear this since it should be Sans Bush. Also, with Al 100% sober, I wonder what his input will be. I expect his voice to sound better since he stopped smoking.
Al does look better than he has in decades. He seems to have truly embraced his new health.
He should get fake dreads with more grey in 'em. Shit looks tacky and fake as hell.
Dated piercings aside, I think he looks amazing. He seems to have de-aged by like 20 years.
Anyway, whether or not everyone thinks it’ll be good or not, I think we’re all interested to see what the next Ministry stuff will sound like with CLEAN AL running the show.
I’d really like to hear them do some country stuff with Al doing clean vocals too.
Wow, Al really says he wants to play “a little bit of something for everyone I’m gonna try and hit every single album I’ve done.”
Wasn’t Relapse the title of an album Eminem made when he changed his mind about retiring? That’s kind of lame for Ministry to use the exact same joke.
I’m disappointed that the Buck Satan album will be released exclusively as a download. He better not do that to the new Ministry. Does the schedule (recording in October, releasing in December) allow enough time for a traditional CD and/or vinyl release?
I think Al looks like a friggin clown.
I think the new album will most probably be crap.
Of course I’ll be buying the new album and attending the tour.
haven’t read the interview yet but…that picture looks photoshopped. -_-
Scaccia strikes me as a buttrocker who probably didn’t even understand the good Ministry material when they made it.
i definitely agree with that…although i don’t know much about him.
seems like he’s rounding up a bunch of no talent idiots (you’d have to be to work with Al at this point) who have nothing better to do.
p.s i actually liked Rio Grande Blood.
If that passes for looking well…
Even still, photo looks shopped (esp. round the hips)
If this new album is going to be great (which I’m sure it will be…) will Al turn around and say all the Bush albums sucked?
It could very well be an aptly titled album. Al didn’t actually lie to us with CULatour and Relapse could speak volumes of truth too.
Rest assured, Al and his 2 Kool Krew r gonna rock da Grammys, dawgs.
He should get fake dreads with more grey in 'em. Shit looks tacky and fake as hell.
Can’t disagree there. Or just go with the shaved head/cowboy hat look he rocked in the late RevCo pics. I mean, the dude’s gone bald. I’m not making fun. I’m heading that way myself. I’m just sayin’.
Wow, Al really says he wants to play “a little bit of something for everyone I’m gonna try and hit every single album I’ve done.”
He said he was going to do the “jukebox of hits” before he started the CULatour and afterwards said “I’m not a fucking jukebox.” So I don’t believe him for a second.

Scaccia’s a musician. Plain and simple. He’ll play circles around any other tool that Al pulls up on stage (or off). But he doesn’t really get involved in any stupid politicking or such (in Ministry he’s there to support Al’s band in whichever direction Al wants to take it). He does his parts, adds much needed flair to many songs, and executes whatever he’s doing with style and precision.
Most people either only know his playing in Ministry, and a few are familiar with his work in Rigor Mortis (his playing is showcased best in his own band). He gets a reputation for just being a turbo speedmetal player, but he’s actually extremely versatile and can, and has, deliver well in pretty much any genre (metal, punk, country, pop, etc.).
It doesn’t hurt my feelings if you don’t like his style or whatever, but I am curious who you would rather have playing guitar with Ministry . . .
For me Scaccia is the only legitimate link to the magic of old. But sadly he can’t force Al to recruit a top notch rhythm section rather than a Nu-Metal rhythm section to support him let alone force Al to write creative non speed thrash metal RGB-ish material which is obviously what we’re in for.
In short…musically Al sucks now and his direction and reputation sucks along with his choice of musicians to leech off of not including Mike.
Yeah. I was hoping we could keep this version of Ministry 100% Ramco free but no such luck.
I want this badass back in the mix:
For my two cents… Al looks great. I’m sure (based on the Buck Satan I’ve heard) that his voice will be back to where it was a la Mind… With that in mind, and what Al says in his interview (since he seems to be sticking to what he says over the last few years) I am expecting an album that sounds like Thieves but with a harder, crisper edginess to it. And fuck Bush. He’s got plenty of political fire to do what he has always done. I’m really stoked and can’t wait to hear what this album sounds like. I bet it’ll be a beast. And if he says ‘every album’ I expect we’ll get A song from Twitch two from LORAH, three from Mind, 3 from Psalm, The Fall and Reload, Bad Blood, and then a grabbag of ‘hits’ from the rest of the stuff from Animosity on with 4 or 5 from the new album. That’s a 17 song prediction and he says about 25 songs so that leaves 8 open for animosity, hotm, rgb and sucker. Seems about right. The only thing I don’t think we will ever get is a rendition of anything off WS. I’ll be going to the Chicago show for sure. I’m hoping for :
We Believe
Stigmata
The Missing/Deity
You Know What You Are
Thieves
Burning Inside (not out of the question! His voice is back and Static play this live!)
Tonight We Murder
Psalm 69
Hero
Jesus Built My Hotrod
The Fall
Reload
Whip And Chain
Supermanic Soul
Animosity
Impossible
No W
Warp City
Palestina
Great Satan
A few tracks from the new album
A few ‘surprises’…
But hey… I’m a diehard fan. I’m probably just dreaming. Not my ‘dream list’ but it would be a good collection of the stuff that I think Al WOULD play now. I think his sobriety has finally got him to see that he has to give the fans some of what they want if he wants to keep having a music career rather than just making music for himself.
