I worked in grief counselling for a number of years and spoke to many women (and men too!) who had been abused, exploited and photographed as children.
It ain’t victimless.
These people were dead. They were still walking and talking - but they were dead people.
It is horrible - and I hope nobody here ever has to bear witness to some of the hellish confessions that I had to confront as I wouldn’t wish that on anyone.
These people had stories that would make you physically ill. How somebody can do that to another person (let alone a child…let alone their OWN child) is beyond me.
Child pornography/abuse/exploitation is indeed vile and those that produce it should be sodomized repeatedly with a barbed pole.
That being said I don’t think society should go on a witch hunt and persecute artists such as Sally Mann and Jock Sturgess who are not sadistic perverts but just trying to capture the essence of a youthful human body. Even if said art is used as a form of pornography by true pedophiles, while it might be morally or sexually repugnant to us no one was really hurt by the art. The same cannot be said for true child pornography.
And this whole nonsense about prosecuting teenagers who’s nude photos wind up online due to the naiveté of youth as purveyors of child pornography is just plain insane. Placing it in even the same ballpark as true child pornography diminishes the monstrosity of the latter.
That card would be funnier if one would think that looks like Roman…he doesn’t exactly have a memorable face, which one would think since he raped a kid.
I recognized him right away.
