It’s plausible to imagine that men jerk off to that kind of thing - but it’s not technically considered ‘pornography’ as such. Should we condone that? Should we censor that kind of thing?

A photo of a naked child is not in itself Child Porn… (other wise my Mother and Grandmother have books full of Child Porn -about 3 generations worth for my Grandmother!)
Parents and grandparents take cute little pictures of their babies in the tub or scampering about the house naked. I believe it’s the context that matters.

You’re right, it’s absurd to think it’s a victimless crime but I don’t think you need to go to the length of your coke example to find a victim.
At the risk of sounding retarded for using this example it still fits… If anyone saw “The Butterfly Effect”… Eric Stoltz plays this fucked up child porn father… Trying to have his kids make porn with the young Ashton Kutcher character. I would imagine how it screws them up probably isn’t too far off from any given scenario in that type of situation.

Child porn is most certainly very rarely, if ever, a victimless crime. I’ve heard some horror stories and believe me you’ll realise it’s hardly ever an innocuous act. Child porn is manufactured everywhere, not just poor areas where children are more vulnerable. There’s a ranking system of degrees of extremity of the stuff that Interpol, FBI, etc. use. Basically every depraved act you might see in adult porn is used in child porn too.
I know void is probably just messing but there is nothing victimless about it.
But back to Polanski, his crime was attempted rape of a 13 year old girl, not child porn? The girl is question did look older than 13 at the time (I don’t know if Polanski knew her age) but would still have been “jailbait”.
Polanski wasn’t just attempted rape it was actual rape and he drugged her to do it.
