Dunno if you already chipped in your two pesos, but what’s your opinion on the new Cocks? Or is there even much of an opinion to begin with?
Just curious, is all.

I know my name isn’t Chris. But some people consider me ‘crispy’. So, I’ll take it upon myself to recall…
…the time Chris said ‘who else is Al gonna invite to do the cocks? The janitor from the skatenigs concert?’
That was quite lol.
Al has been so desperate to unleash sub-par material and rehashes over the last 5 years that I 'm surprised even I wasn’t asked to be a frontman for some hick industrial disco rock hoo-ha or other.
Oh hang on…phone’s ringing…
On a related note, I managed to hear Sex-O Olympic-O for the first time earlier this week and to all those who championed it or merely said it was ‘listenable’ or commented that it had ‘a few good tracks’, I say unto ye:
‘ARE YOU FUCKING DEAF!?!?!?!?!?’

I think so many here were wanting so badly for so long to hear an “Al” project that sounded even remotely like the older material (prominent keyboards, sequencer, wax-traxy cliche industrial kinda feel to it) that they totally overlooked just how bad the record was! And some folks here seem to really honestly dig mediocre industrial. (which is fine, different strokes and all…)
I remember Chris making fun of the lack of sales of the new album, but I don’t remember him commenting on the music, which I’ll bet his is doing because he (like Mr. Barker, Mr. Reiflen) seems to be a gentleman, which is more than can be said for others in the Ministry camp.

Understatement of the year.

I wonder how many copies it has sold (not including digital downloads that is…I’m talking hard copies)?
Is there any way of finding out? I’ll warrant it hasn’t sold more than 5000 copies.
I wonder who they are blaming bad sales on this time? The sound engineer? The bloke who served drinks? The chick on the front cover?

No.
Your vocabulary word for the day is “subjective.” See Miriam-Webster’s definition 3 which states:
3 a : characteristic of or belonging to reality as perceived rather than as independent of mind : phenomenal — compare objective 1b b : relating to or being experience or knowledge as conditioned by personal mental characteristics or states
Let me know if you’d like me to elaborate on the meaning of the word for you.
honestly? they should change the name and lose the unfunny redneck/stripper image
The music could stand alone without Al, some of it is quite dark, it’s better than pigface…
break away guys, who needs a drunk 70 year old lady producing their records?
that’s my honest opinion
uh…uh…i’m with connelly!
DAMN YOU CONNELLY! (beat me to the punch every single time you wrest yourself away from much more important things to do.burp.)
It’s no worse that then older RevCo stuff. Big Sexy Land had a good song or two but was mostly irritating repetitive nonsense. The difference being that Big Sexy Land came when there wasn’t anything like it and people were curious and bought it and dance clubs played it. The new stuff is about 10-20 yrs too late. Industrial, like punk and disco, is dead except for the occasional goth/industrial nerds you see. Industrial used to be cool but now it is a caricature of MySpace weenies.
Totally agree with everything you said.
Linger Ficken Good had a lot of ‘misses’ also… but better than BSL.
BSL… yeah, some tracks were winners. But the production was weak, tinny at best… it had it’s moments nonetheless, few and far between though. The repetition killed it for me.
the only consistent RevCo album was BS&Q… seriously, that album is fucking gold. I don’t a fuck what anyone else things… top album, better than more than a few Ministry albums.
What I like about old RevCo is that not every song was a wanton opportunity for a fucking joke. Some songs were serious, some were trippy, some were jokes, some made no sense at all. That was the beauty of it. A party band in the truest sense of the word… at every party, noone just talks about the one thing with the same group of people… everything gets thrown around. RevCo was like a drunken picnic with a bunch of intellectual enfant terribles.

Well then, you should check out Stayte if you haven’t already. It’s pretty much nu-Revco without Al (or Sin, though I’d be suprised if he doesn’t show up on the next album).
Think I can honestly say that i’d prefer Stayte over nu-revco anyday. Some decent variety there. Without Sin, it’d be a Stayte album. And personally, I prefer the remixes over the original because it drowns out the guitar, or most of it. Sin seems really cool, but he’s really the weakest link of that band.
But I agree with chris. They should ditch the strip club gimmick. The limits might be much highee than it seems for potential.

stayte you say… hmm… what label are they on?
When it comes to Sex-O Olympic-O, no amount of subjectiveness can attest for how downright awful the damn thing is.
That’s like saying: Well, if you listen to St Anger with an open mind…

I could get behind this… the three guys, I think, have had enough exposure to shove off on their own.
I really am ok with the music they put out (even the “revco” stuff- I think it’s much better [closer to the old revco sound]than Cocked and loaded was, although cocked and loaded had a few decent tracks just not revcoish. I still dig “revolting cock au leit”) I don’t think I’ve heard any of Sin’s other work but Clayton and Josh are solid.
