A question for Chris...

Brilliant! Tenohtwo is now the nipple king. Japs are fucking crazy, they will do anything.

When it comes to Sex-O Olympic-O, no amount of subjectiveness can attest for how downright awful the damn thing is.

That’s like saying: Well, if you listen to St Anger with an open mind…

How about this then:

Eat shit and die, asshole.

That’s beautiful Peligro,

I’ll PM you my home address so you can send similar Christmas cards to my entire family [:)]

honestly? they should change the name and lose the unfunny redneck/stripper image

The music could stand alone without Al, some of it is quite dark, it’s better than pigface…

break away guys, who needs a drunk 70 year old lady producing their records?

that’s my honest opinion

Completely unexpected, but much appreciated!

Things I’d Rather Do Than Listen To Sex-O Olympic-O Part 357:

See, I’d do that WHILE spinning Sexo, but diff’rent strokes, right?

i think josh is a great performer with a decent voice. he does a good job. he needs to get back to stayte music , and ditch the stripper enhanced sideshow for which he probably gets little.

Thanks for the reply Chris. Much appreciated.
I pretty much agree with most people here. I think the 3 lads should break away on their own.
But I dont think Sin is the weakest link. Its my understanding that he pretty much wrote all of the music on “Sex-O” (which I think is decent) and played all the guitars, bass, and keys.
I think Sin, Josh, and Clay should have their own thing.
I’ll be seeing the lads in Austin.

I’m under the impression that Clayton did keys, Sin mainly did guitar and “some” keyboards, while Josh did vocals. Definitely a collaborative effort by all means. But, i’m kinda curious as to how these songs would’ve ended up without the guitars. Whether or not they would sound anything like Stayte, or not.

Well, the interviews from back when the album first came out indicate that Clayton was off doing something else during most of the writing process. Sin wrote the music and gave it to Josh to do the lyrics who gave it Al to put his 2 cents in. Clayton’s only got credit on a few songs.

Also, Stayte’s already got lots of guitars.

The song Sin didn’t write (Touch Screen) is one of two I actually like on the album, so I’m going to agree with Sin being the weak link.

Yeah, thats what I had heard. Sin and Josh did most of the writing on this album and Sin DID co-write “Touch Screen”. Its also my understanding that he did in fact play most of the keyboards on “Sex-O”.
I talked to him in Austin months back during a ReVamp show and he gave me the scoop on the making of this album.
I know Im in the minority here but I like these 3 new guys and in my opinion Sin seems to be the guy thats really trying to bridge the gap between old and new. Just my opinion.
And I also really like all the Stayte material I have heard.

I don’t think anyone has a problem with the three new guys. They just don’t care for the way Al is exploiting their talent as well as his own catalogue. I don’t think I can recall anybody on here bashing any of the new 3. I think the majority opinion is they should be doing their own act instead of Al making them attempt to duplicate a group from decades past.

Surely if these 3 guys are writing the material and Al is just farting away somewhere in the background why do they have to do what he tells them? There’s probably some legal wrangling there but if these guys have plans of their own what’s Al going to do, fire them!? If he fired them then revco are completely dead and Al’s lost one avenue of income, no matter how menial it might be.

The new guys obviously have no major qualms about making up the new revco outfit; they jump straight into a (somewhat) popular act, it is prestiguous to work with the “legendary” Mr. Jourgensen, etc. No one engages a deal that is not somewhat self-serving.

Because when your band’s name is “Stayte” people say “Who?” and stay home. But when your band’s name is “Revolting Cocks” people go to your shows and hopefully pick up a Stayte CD while they’re there and become a fan (I did!).

“This is the best RevCo album I’ve ever done. As a matter of fact, I think this is the best album—including Ministry, Pailhead, Lard—anything I’ve ever done, period.” - Al J.

So, how much credit does he really get for this album, anyway? Sounds like the other guys wrote the bulk of the material.

"It’s a bit of a slap in the face to the legacy RevCo fans but the real RevCo has been gone so long who really cares? "

Yeah, I kind of agree with this (both parts of the statement).

The lack of Paul is also a huge deal, not just Chris.

lord only knows why these guys are putting up with this. But i mean, look at the past w/ministry and al taking all the credit for work paul or raven or chris did. Hopefully it was the nail hit on the head when somebody said it was just to get their band more exposure. Then again imagine you’re a musician (for those out there who aren’t) and get offered a role in a band that you like, would you take it?
I think the menudo reference who be a keen observation if this had been a case of the producers writing the songs with songwriters and the musicians just being the faces on stage. so al wants to be lou pearlman or whomever…
