Looks like the first single from Relapse is due December 23rd.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
They’re using the Ministry logo Ministry used when they were awesome? It’s the final nail in the coffin of everything that was once cool about Ministry.
Bastards!
Sounds like someone took my copy of Psalm 69 and used it to clean their toilet.
And thanks again for some crappy ass cover art, banged out by a 12 year old taking a graphics class at the adult education center.
And seriously? Occupy? 99%? Way to stay political, Al! Let me guess . . . Republicans are bad? Wall Street is bad? Am I missing anything?
NOOOOOOOOOO
I think it’s oddly metaphorical that Al would be singing about the 99%. Ministry used to symbolize for us that there was something special about being part of a MINORITY that felt it either didn’t belong with the rest of society as a whole or didn’t want to belong.
It used to be the counter culture, anti-conformity, anti-normal, anti-everything . . . . Fk ME Fk YOU Fk Fk Fk Fk Fk Fk Fk Fk Fk!!! Fk ME F**k YOU . . . .
Now it’s about watered down Kerrrang!-friendly buttrock and sucking up to Guitar Hero and selling Christmas songs and sympathizing with stinky hippies. Screw that.
Lame.
that was terrible. it comes out on my birthday too. instead of wishing it didn’t come out on my birthday, I wish I was born on a different day completely now!
Don’t judge til you actually hear shit from the album.

I’m not judging the entire album. I’m judging what is presented to us . . . a crappy cover art and a crappy soundbite. Believe it or not, I’m actually one of the least jaded around here and still hold out hope that the album can be good. This snippet didn’t help increase that hope, though.
i personally like his political lyrics.
and i’m involved in the occupy movement, so i’m stoaked he’s writting about it.
i just hope the music/production aren’t so bad :P.
The sound clip is really difficult to judge. It doesn’t sound that different from a lot of other recent Ministry. So maybe I’ll like this song, maybe I won’t.
I do think it is sad whenever a band that used to put out nice collectible 12" singles is forced to pass off an MP3 as their new “single”. Who cares if the “cover art” is good in that case? I’m guessing this is an album track, too.

I walked through Occupy Ottawa one day and found it kind of uninspiring, despite wanting to agree with it. :\
AFM Records? Anybody want to guess what that is?
Allendörfer Fischer Musik.

Yeah, I went down to check out Occupy Atlanta a month or two ago. I decided that while I’m on their side, old-school style protesting isn’t really for me. What I did discover was that the “dirty hippie” cliche that the right uses to discredit the movement was largely bullshit, and that the authorities reacted like lunatics to what were clearly a very peaceful bunch (they had two helicopters flying over at all times - how much must that have cost the city? - and that very night the stormed the place and kicked everyone out).
I actually think the Occupy movement is good solid subject matter for bands like Ministry (and KMFDM) to tackle in their songs. Hopefully Al’s lyrics won’t be as ham-fisted as his Bush ones.

I wouldn’t even judge it off of a crappy snippet. If there were more vox then I’d join in on the bashing. I just hope it isn’t full of political shit. He should actually do some songs about alcoholism. That’s one thing Ministry’s been missing: Drug songs.
^
It will be pretty disappointing if he doesn’t.
He names the album RELAPSE while he’s sober.
Then he relapses and posts a bunch of vids of him fully loaded.
Then he makes promos saying “It’s called Relapse for OBVIOUS reasons”.
It would be really great if he threw in some dark personal stuff about his demons (yeah yeah, I won’t say “Dark Side”, but we’re all thinking it) instead of some Poison-esque “Don’t want nuthin’ but a good time” Frat-Boy kegger anthems or something.
Like I said, I may be cynical . . . . but I’m still hopeful.
sounds shit
omg its gonna be same crap as last sucker and rio grande with same riffs and those retarded programmed drums
bleh
