3Teeth

Most of you are probably more than aware of this amazing group. I just saw on their FB page that they scored the opening gig for Tool’s upcoming US tour.

It is amazing how big these guys have gotten doing everything on their own.

They will come on before Primus…

I keep hearing about these 3Teeth dudes, but I know NOTHING about them. I always just assumed they were the next Industrial-cheeserock-of-the-month, a la Combichrist, NIN, or whatever . . .

Can someone give me a short description of what type of music they are and suggest a track or two? I’ll be glad to give 'em a try, despite being apathetic to or downright hating 98% of all new music.

I’ve not kept up with Primus for the last 20 years, but have heard they are still phenomenal live. As for Tool . . . . yeah, having them go on last is a real blessing. In the far off chance I went to this tour I could beat the crowd out and be first at Denny’s.

I don’t know anything about them I just saw they were opening this tour…

and yes Primus live is something I would suggest anyone see…I don’t even care if you don’t like them on record…it doesn’t matter…a completely different beast live…

They are like a perfect mixture of Ministry and NIN. A bit of Ministry’s aggression, with touch of NIN’s melodies. But no whiny singing. Just good industrial metal.

I’ve seen them a number of times over the last year and half, they put on a damn good show. And I’ve chatted with the guitarist, Chase, they are all pretty cool guys. Excited they will get some exposure.

Gunnar, I was wearing a 3Teeth shirt at the Ministry show.

Just listened to some of it due to this thread.
They remind me of the Celtic Frost guy singing for Rammstein.

I remember.
I think that was the first time I had any awareness of them. I just figured they were some go-nowhere indie Industrial spinoff made from the leftover parts of Primitive Race or something, and didn’t even bother asking, haha. To each their own.

I’ll give 'em a listen this week and let you know what I think.

Absolutely, and even if you like primus its an even better treat.

I know being positive isn’t popular on here these days… but thank you for posting this. Never heard of them before, but I am very much enjoying 3Teeth at the moment.

I feel like 3-Teeth would be a better name for a Bluegrass Quartet than an Industrial band.

If you like their recordings, you are in for a HUGE treat when they play live. Their simple, yet bludgengly straight forward approach comes across beautifully live. I saw them at Cold Waves and it remains one of the top performances i have ever seen.

Not bad. I bet it does sound cool live.
Only a trillion times better than Primitive Race, so sorry for the earlier pre-listen judgment.

That positive shit is for sell-out faggots.
Don’t be all like corporate and lame.
Be cool and hate everything. Unless it’s something everyone hates . . . then it’s cool to like it.

Between these guys, Youth Code and High-Functioning Flesh, we got a little industrial resurgence here in LA.

This is good…had to give credit…

3 Teeth is cheese but i enjoy a track or two of theirs.

This is about the most positivity I can muster for them. The production is good for a club context, but it feels more like guitarl-flavoured dance music than actual industrial metal. I bet Steve Albini really can’t stand them.

And those lyrics! Completely impersonal, cliché, and seemingly targeted at teenagers who find novelty in the idea of a band being countercultural. I’ve actually wondered if the lyrics and image of this band are meant to feel inauthentic ironically.

never heard of these guys before.so i picked up the remixed disc today.not bad.

Never heard of them before but I’ll give them a whirl, hope its not rehashed nin, keeping my fingers crossed.

eh, I had a gut feeling it was that electro industrial stuff
