Received mine today. Amazon UPS’d the book separately from an order which I placed the same day… and received a day earlier. Go figure. So far the density of the book looks like it may be a good read.

And today I FINALLY FINISHED the book and am ready for discussion, but likely should wait until the others have finished as well. But i’ll give a quick review. I enjoyed every second of it, wasn’t surprised at all how Al was portrayed and was kinda sad, but very funny at times. Kind of a shame about how chris perceives the phenobarb album, which I think is absolutely great. But with such reasons, I can understand why.
Until now I had only heard the name Tucker on in terms of reference, it’s cool to get to know a little more of who he was rather than him being some random guy from ministry/pigface who just so happened to kill himself. Glad to get some perspective on that.
In the end, it was insightful and I think tasteful. Didn’t come to me as malicious or even remotely brutal towards al, and seemed a little more sympathetc than anything else. Well worth the money and the wait.

Got my book this week, finally started it tonight. I read the first four chapters while listening to BSQ and YGDSOB in their entirety. Actually, CC was yelling out “You goddamned son of a bitch” just as I was reading about Bill yelling the same thing at a motorist - good timing. Reminded me of the books I’d read along to records as a kid (“You’ll know it is time to turn the page when you hear…”) Great stuff…can’t wait to to finish it, probably this weekend. Lots to discuss, that’s for sure.
