Ziv Gidron, who came up with and sang the nonsensical chant on the WS cut “What He Say” died yesterday in Spain.
He was a noted film maker and suffered a heart attack on location.
Loved Ziv. He was an Israeli citizen living and going to school in Boston when we met him. We had a lot of great times together. His distinctive voice and oblique sense of humor truly made him a very unique individual.
He left a family that included at least one young daughter. Sorry I don’t know more details but I just got word of this hours ago.

Ziv acted as a kind of social director. He’d been introduced to the Synchro Sound crew before we ever met him. He had a very deep voice and claimed that he’d worked or taught in Africa and that’s how he came up with the chant.
I really don’t know much about the song. It was recorded in my absence.
