It’s pretty obvious that some folks clearly have no idea how Detroit ended up in the state that it’s in and are simply making shit up. I shall leave you to your ignorance.
For everyone else and your collective amusement these are just a VERY small sample of the elected officials, directors, and other Detroit authority figures who have gone to prison, or are currently relaxing in a cage. This is just off the top of my head and by no means even remotely comprehensive.
Kwame Kilpatrick - former mayor. Currently residing in a federal penitentiary awaiting sentencing for 24 felonies, including RICO (racketeering), fraud, conspiracy, public corruption, filing false tax returns, tax evasion, conversion, and the list goes on.
Bernard Kilpatrick - the Kwamster’s father awaiting sentencing for tax evasion.
Christine Beaty - former Chief of Staff. Multiple felonies.
Derick Miller - Chief Administrative Officer. Multiple felonies including public corruption, and tax evasion. Plea bargain from RICO and conspiracy.
Karl Kado - director of Cobo Center (Detroit’s convention and events center) public corruption and bribery.
Kado’s predecessor - don’t recall the name but same thing as Kado.
Jeff Beasley - Treasurer. Public corruption. Bribery. Kickbacks.
Ronald Zajac - Pension Fund lawyer. Theft. Bribery. Corruption.
Paul Stewart - Pension fund trustee. See above.
Monica Conyers - City Counsel president and wife of long time Detroit Congressman John Conyers. Multiple felonies. She also had a habit of getting into bar brawls.
Multiple officials from Detroit Public schools - too many to list. Though former school board president Otis Mathis deserves special mention. Aside from being nearly completely illiterate, Mr Mathis had a habit of whacking off in front of female guests in his office. The local ahem … “activists” and pulpit pimps defended his actions as being completely normal for any man.
Jackie Currie - City of Detroit Clerk. Sending out pre-filled out absentee ballots. Forged signatures on ballots This went on for decades. Who says election fraud doesn’t exist?
William Hart - Police Chief. Embezzled 2.6 million dollars. Multiple police chiefs have spent time in a cage. Hart was just the most colorful.
Director of Detroit Public Library - name escapes me at the moment but once again, bribery, kickbacks, public corruption.
Victor Mercado -Detroit Water Department head, A laundry list of public corruption, bribery, kickbacks etc.
That is just a small sampling. There are an endless number of politicos, and officials that have been convicted, are currently indicted, or on trial in the city. Detroit is a monument to the failure of unbroken, single party rule since 1962.
Well, Detroit’s resume looks worse than it’s crime rate.
I wonder sometimes if there even is a way to “fix” the bad parts of Detroit and in such a way that doesn’t involve flamethrowers or nuclear weapons. But really, where to begin…?

Regarding the Robo Cop statue, the current elected officials didn’t want the statue at all. They thought it would give Detoilet a bad name.
Makes sense. Because a Robocop statue representing order and hope would tarnish Detroit’s current positive rep.
Fucking idiots. They could erect a stature of a veined out dick and it wouldn’t matter anyway. Statues won’t save a fucking thing.
And all the crime cities are given spiritual guidance and leadership by a Twilight Zone tampon machine.
I kind of like the idea of creating giant cities for criminals that are guarded by the National Guard.

I don’t think it is very unusual to get a warning instead of a ticket. More often than not, I have been given warnings instead of tickets.
I’d also carry a gun if I was him due to the number of people that want him dead.
