Z'ev seriousy injured in Amtrak derailment, needs help

Is it on Z’ev to have insurance. Sure, whatever. We’re all responsible for ourselves and should plan accordingly. But it doesn’t make it any less terrible when people get stuck in a jam. It’s possible to recognize that someone may have been able to avoid tragedy if they had taken different steps and yet sill empathize with them.

Thank you, a very sane and humane post, I expected no less.

I’m going to drop the whole insurance debate - it’s pointless to keep harping on it as this will just become one of these things where we yell at each other, don’t succeed in changing one another’s opinions, and simply waste time on doing so.

To Gunnar’s point here, if I see a man bleeding to death on the street, there’s something innate in me that would want to help the guy without first asking if he had done something to put himself in that position. And this is especially true when I see a friend of my friends is suffering, and it’s someone who I know has worked his ass off to ‘follow his own star’ and to do something he is passionate about in spite of its unpopularity and financial risk.

I am of the same disposition as Gunnar and Tomasz here…whatever it takes for a friend…

It’s not a debate or an opinion. It just IS.

Well, no shit. Nice straw man. Was that an intentional logical fallacy or did you post it not knowing any better? This is clearly not a man bleeding on the street since he had time to set up a “send me money” page. Instead of asking/begging the fan base to help him out he coulda spent a few minutes searching the exchange finding affordable insurance prior to ending up hurt. Besides… If Amtrak hurt him I would think it would be Amtrak’s bill, insurance or not

The only ones I know of who are always right more often than grmpy are Walter from Big Lebowski, Rush Limbaugh and Eric Cartman.

I’m gonna make a wild guess and suggest if you worried less about being right and concerned yourself more with connecting to people your life would have a lot less stress in it.

Walter Sobchak: Am I wrong?
The Dude: No you’re not wrong.
Walter Sobchak: Am I wrong?
The Dude: You’re not wrong Walter. You’re just an asshole.
Walter Sobchak: Okay then.

I don’t think he owns a time machine.

Anyway, I’m not surprised that the Australians are gonna send this guy some timber funds.
Wouldn’t want to risk not getting a special 5 LP set of . . . . .

This.

He obviously didn’t set up the fund page himself…

Thanks for your insights. I’ll consider it. Btw Rush and cartman are never right. But whatever. Your insult is noted.

I don’t think he owns a time machine.

Im not 100% on this but i’m pretty sure he doesnt need a time machine he can get it at any time. Didnt realize he didn’t set up the page himself.

That’s often a deciding factor for me, actually, in deciding to help someone.

What’s going on with you Peligro?

Nothing. I’m drinking coffee and doing tax returns, as we speak.

How’s about you? How’s Kid No. 2 coming along??

Seriously, Bro. I miss the old Peligro…

You do?!?!?

Been noticing youve been slowing down on the board, thought maybe you got a new gig. Good luck with the taxes. Public school has been really hectic this year so ive slowed down on the board tremendously myself. I imagine gunnar is probably is the king of the posts now.
Kid number two is great. Thanks for asking. Daphne Nora just got another round of vaccines today and is doing rather well. She does a lot of eating and a lot of crying and sleeping. My parents came over to watch her and our son last night so we could go to the puscifer show. Whats new with you?

Oh. I see. And how was Puscifer btw?

Just been working. And saving. And spending money on records in between. Keep telling myself I’m gonna stop…but a week or two later, whaddaya know I’m back at the vinyl store and rackin’ up the credit card expenses once again. Don’t become a record collector whatever you do. More addictive than smoking.

Oh yeah and I’m smoking again.

Been seeing a girl since January, but it been three months and still no sex. That’s always a bad sign. Usually it happens on around the third or fourth date. This girl is just frigid. And frigid girls are a no go zone as they usually have some unresolved “issue” that they really should see a shrink about. And said “issue” generally rears its ugly head sooner or later…just as yr getting comfortable - blissfully unaware of the shitstorm that is about to hit you.

Shame, cos she’s very pretty and doesn’t smoke or eat junk food.

I also saw Sunn O))) last week.

Fantastic. I’m not sure if this is going to be a world tour, but if they make it to you, you should go. I know you’re a Tool fan but If I remember right you weren’t very keen on Puscifer. Even still, if you’re (even a casual) a fan of Maynard’s voice, you probably won’t be disappointed. The band sounded tight as hell. We would’ve gone again if there was another date close by… and we had the time. one thing Puscifer does to me though is make me want to start taking bong rips and just float away on the music, especially the song “Horizons” and in concert that song is really potent. “Humbling River” also.

I’m only a casual collector of vinyl, but CDs I hear ya’. Luckily they’re far far cheaper than vinyl. but I’ve started to run out of shelving. gonna have to build some more… really what I’d like is some custom built shelves but nobody wants to make the specs I want or else they want to charge far more than I want to spend.

Oh yeah and I’m smoking again.

My condolences

You got other shit in common with this girl? If all your doing is biding your time until you can get in there then you’re probably wasting your time. If you like being around her then don’t worry about it. Sex will show up. Just enjoy each others company until she’s ready. If you think nothing will come of it why stick around? You don’t seem like a conquest kinda guy.

Shame, cos she’s very pretty and doesn’t smoke or eat junk food.

Is she just fucking with you? Are you a project for her?

How was that?

Yeah, I wouldn’t mind hearing of that either.
Yes, I think that band is a hideous joke, but I’m interested in hearing more from people who are actually into such stuff.

I saw Sunn O))) years ago when they had Attila Csihar from Mayhem with them in the basement of an old church that’s been converted to a concert venue and it was intense. Csihar wore a robe covered with shards of mirrors and had lasers in his fingers. There was so much fog that it set off the smoke alarm.
A friend saw them a couple of years later at a more conventional venue without Csihar, and said it wasn’t nearly as goo.
