You're so mean to me baby...!

lol…

The Tongue-Tied Mix of “I wanted to tell her”

“A walk in the park” is pretty interesting too…

“do you wanna are you gonna, Huh?”

hee hee, so disco gay! (not that that’s a BAD thing!)

Both are off the “I Wanted to Tell Her” 12"

Heh, forgive me… got a little case of the insomnia from working for my presentation on monday… I should really try and hit the hay…

Arista Retrospectacle!

i said: “girl i’ve been working so hard, why do you keep rejecting me?”

“you don’t have what it takes”

“but i’m willin’ to wooooooo-o-o-o-o-o-rk!!”

check out Work For Love 7’’ mixes (there are two different versions with slightly different dialogue)

Those songs rule. We need an Arista Retrospectacle with just old Ministry songs. wempathy might be the only one on stage but that’s ok.

I’d be happy to stand in for Al, but he would barge on the stage halfway through the set screaming: “Who the f*ck said you could wear my Boy George hat?!”.[laugh]

i hated all of these, but have fun.

I think part of the reason we enjoy these is cause we know it’s Al singing, and they go so much against the pirate/biker/shitkicker image that Al has cultivated over the years… at least that’s part of the enjoyment for me anyway…

Now when I hear these songs I picture Al assaulting the smart bar dj and tearing the album off the turntable like Chris described in his book [:)]

I never liked “With Sympathy”, but I love “Revenge”.

you did it ah-gain, you did it ah-gain, you did it Ah-gain and Ah-gain and Ah-gain!

OH HOH!

(fixed)

I think it’s a fine early '80s synth-pop album.
Not everything has to be dark and evil sounding or angry post-punk whatever.
That said, the songs Al wrote with the producers are definitely inferior to the ones he wrote with the band.

If you took WS, lopped off the last three tracks or so, and tacked on “Same Old Madness,” “A Walk in the Park,” and something like “Wait,” it’d be, no joke, my favorite Ministry record ever.

Lop off most of the second half. Maybe keep Say Your Sorry but throw on Same Old Madness, What Is The Reason, America and Never Asked For Nothing and you’ve got yourself a perfect album. May as well make Work For Love the full version while ur at it

Hell, why lop any tracks off at all? The only song that is HORRIBLE is “What He Say”? (aka “Do the Etawa”).

It’s a shame Al’s not sitting on studio versions of all of those various early 80s non-album tracks.

Just think of the compilation album that could be made containing all the songs both pre-WS & post-WS:

-America
-Eyes of Christ
-Same Old Madness
-Never Asked for Nothing
-Love Change
-What is the Reason
-Primental
-I See Red
-Walk in the Park
-So So Life
-What is the Reason
-Do You Even Like It
-I Will Do Anything for you

Throw a few covers on there (Same old Scene, Ricky’s Hands etc) along with the WaxTrax 12" stuff and the Early Trax and you have enough for a double or even triple CD compilation!

Instead of New Order’s “Substance” you could have Ministry’s “Substance Abuse”

Haha nice. You can’t forget about Thrill Kill Kult. A Walk In The Park is supposed to be on the reissue of WS.
