Your Thoughts - Chemlab

Still puts on a show.

I intentionally picked Chemlab for this first installment because I thought they had a lot of versatility. I always thought that if they got the right producer behind them, they could have been huge. They definitely stood out on their own. Glad they are still active even if it isn’t their best output.

These two are a must for industrial fans:

Is the tribute album they released worth it?

I Don’t know that one but Jared Louche & the Aliens—Covergirl — I do have it and it’s okay.

If I were Gerda, the whole Lead Into Gold catalogue would have been reissued already. Jesus Christ, someone get on that so I never have to post here again.

Barker was a big supporter of Chemlab and wore a Chemlab Tshirt during the 92 tours. Scheduling made it so he couldn’t produce Burnout (I think). Critter still rocked the shit out of that album.

I am low and slow not Gerda.

Always liked the Vera Blue song. Could pass as a decent KMFDM track. Never really gave their other stuff much of a chance though. Singer sings a lot like Barker at times.

Barker almost produced them.

Nothing says ultimate greatness quite like almost producing something.

Saw Chemlab open up for Sister Machine Gun in nyc around 96 and that show was great. They blew smg away. And then i saw them in detroit in 2006 and thought they were absolutely horrible and left half way through. Maybe they just couldn’t live up to my expectations after the first show or maybe they really just didn’t sound as good without Dylan. I’m not sure.

Jared toured with Pigface on The Lowest of The Low tour in 98 which is still one of my all time favorite shows/lineups. I know he toured with them after that as well including the 2001 tour.

I still enjoy the old Chemlab eps and albums from the 90s and i have one of those old “fuck art let’s kill” shirts in storage somewhere. i should throw that up on ebay.

Lowandslow is still the best poster on Prongs.
