Young Gods Supporting Killing Joke In Edinburgh

Just noticed this via Tickets-Scotland…

I imagine Young Gods are probably supporting KJ throughout the UK & Europe…not so sure about the USA/Canada though???

Anyway a nice little treat I thought as usually support acts tend to be rather pish for the most part.

Somewhere there’s a thread discussing the Young God’s performance on the Sphinctour last decade. You may want to read that before you get too excited.

I haven’t really heard that much Young Gods music and am not really that fussed about seeing them live…I do know they have a decent following and thought I could make folk totally jealous that they’re supporting.

The joke’s on you. I am the eternal optimist, and even I have to admit the Young Gods were one of the worst live acts I have ever witnessed.

I quite like the Young Gods, though I haven’t seen them live. The “Live Sky” CD was dang good though so I have hope.

Nothing says Industrial like sampled guitars! Get 'em Young Gods.

Aren’t they a 3-piece now?

you guys are talking about shows 14 years ago lol for all you know the dude mastered the guitar and the band is a 5 piece now.

EDIT from 2007 -

I don’t really like this band all that much, but they seem to have stepped it up in the live department since 1996. What a shock!

i see they’re playing (headlining) over the road from me in London in December. i’ll definitely be there. plus rotersand are on the week after, nice.

I do Like their 1989 album L’eau Rouge which has some pretty good tracks on it. The video for Envoye was disturbing for its time. They are one of the original crop of Wax Trax/PIAS bands that have kept going all this time.

My biggest problem with The Young Gods is not the mangled guitar samples, but the fact that anytime I hear Franz Treichler sing I can only picture Pepé Le Pew in my head.
