does anybody know how to save files from You Tube? Is there anyway to just rip the Audio out of the video? I can’t get the video or even the Audio to save it always wants to save as a web page. I want the .WMV or the Mp3.

just google “download video from youtube”. there are some websites where you just paste the videolink and then it allows you to save the video as .flv file. it’s a flash video format so i guess you’ll need some flash format extractors or rippers.
at any rate, i wouldn’t extract audio from youtube files (unless it’s the only way to get the track, or whatever) because they automatically downsample it to 22khz and very low bitrate.
You guys are great!! You put me on the path and I found Hidownload which exported the Stream to FLV. THen I used Hghdownload to change the file over to MPG. then i used AoA Audio Extractor to change it to MP3. FUCKIN" GREAT!!! thanks fellas!

www.keepvid.com works great too. Saves it as an flv file then you’re free to do with it what you wish. If you only care about the audio, total recorder’s a great option. It records whatever’s happening on your computer as a sound file. Works great with myspace as well.
