[reply]So I gotta look harder to find the brothas and sistahs or just write in candidates .
I always thought that was interesting. That you can just write in names of people you would like to see.
Up here, if you put anything but a check mark, or X, next to the candidate’s name, it gets rejected.
Are you able to see the final results of your district?
500,000 votes for Obama
20 votes for Amlux
1 vote for Romney
and such?[/reply]
I’m not sure if there’s any master list somewhere or something. I can tell you, though, that the “write in” candidate process is really not as simplified as just putting a name down and blammo, if Dee Snider gets 500,000,000 votes he gets to be president.
There are actually “qualified” write-in candidates who’ve gone through some process to be approved as such. Random plugged in names “Mickey Mouse”, “Ronald McDonald”, or even real people that just aren’t pre-qualified as real write-in candidates are, I assume, invalidated and will likely be all lumped together as a non-vote for that position.
I’m guessing that, there should be some master stats somewhere that will have the complete breakdown of all the candidates, including the third parties and write-ins, spoilt ballots, non-votes, etc. How to get access to it is another story, but it’s all public information so while it may be a bit of a hassle, it should certainly be available.
