Yngwie Malmsteen Rising Force

Anybody here into this kind of stuff?

This is my fav track:

I like Yngwie too. And we share the same favorite track and album. “I Am A Viking” was the track that got me into Yngwie in the first place. Until I’d heard that one, I thought his albums were just a bunch of solo wankering and non-stop classical Mozart-Beethoven stuff put to guitar. When he gets a proper band together with a solid vocalist it’s really pretty badass.

From the same “Marching Out” album . . . “Disciples of Hell” and “I’ll See The Light Tonight” are great jams too.

Heaven Tonight!!!

HAHA!!! Good one. That can probably also be used as a prime example of why many people are instantly turned off to this stuff. Certainly not one of my favorite tracks, but at least you can make cool drinking games like . . . . take a shot every time Yngvie kicks.

We filmed some stuff at Yngwie’s house for a production company I used to work for…he lives down here in Miami Shores…he is a big bloated arrogant narcissistic douchebag…but that’s how you want your symphonic Euro power metal guitarist’s to be…

He has a fleet of red Ferrari’s that you can see him driving around town in,on occasion…hair blowing in the wind, frilly long-sleeved t-shirt,open blouse and gold chains…in other words, pure awesomeness…

Last half of your post makes him sound like a pirate that has traded in his ship for a ferrari.

Oh, yeah, his bloated douchiness is actually one of the things that I’ve come to really love about him over the years. And that is AWESOME that you see him around now and then.

I wish I had the MTV clip circa 1993 when he was arrested or questioned about beating his woman. The reporters caught up to him and he was getting out of some badass Ferrari and he had his Yngvie hair and a fringed leather jacket and giant aviator glasses on and he just looked so aggravated to be even bothered by such boring plebians asking about the incident. He just shoved them aside and semi-shouted in a thick mushmouthed accent “I DTHIDN’T DTHOO IT!!!”

And I love whenever Guitar World or some publication (or a TV clip is even better) has the privilege of seeing his guitar collection and he brings them to a giant room with like 500 yellowish/white stratocasters which all look almost indistinguishable from each other.

Total badass!

i love yngwie i have lots of his concerts to

His first 2 releases were his best. Raw & solid! I’ve seen him many times. My first was when he opened for AC-DC back in 1986.

I’ll throw in releases 3 & 4 as well. Trial by fire (live) is also really good.

How could I forget the aviator glasses!!! He still wears some modern variation of those things to this day…when we worked for Malmsteen he didn’t even acknowledge are presence at all hahaha…it was hilarious…that guy is one of a kind…

I saw him on that AC/DC tour in 86 also…such an odd pairing…that was a great feature of concerts in the 80’s though…the booking of acts that have absolutely no business being billed together…

Haha! I’ve heard similar stories about him completely ignoring people or worse. I hope to one day be able to say that I too was ignored by the great Yngwie.

This was strictly street-chat and not from any journal or anything, but I remember also hearing that he would cycle through musicians and singers fairly rapidly as well. He’d pay them pennies and treat them like crap (naturally) and if they had the nerve to complain about not being able to buy food or something it was adios muchacho!

I’ve always loved how little he gave a crap what the press or anyone thought about him. So many people scramble together some facade of do-goodery and make like the politicians with the baby-kissing and whatnot. Not Yngwie. Not ever. I have a feeling if you were on fire and your screams of agony interrupted one of his arpeggios he would not only not help you, but would probably go buy a brand new half-million dollar Ferrari just to run you over with.

Oh . . . And we haven’t even gotten to the story behind “UNLEASH THE FURY” yet . . .

UNLEASH THE FOOKIN FURY U KUNT!!!

Malmsteen’s a fuckwit.

I knew someone who worked as an assistant photographer for some major ass photography studio in LA who handled all the “stars” - particularly rock stars.

He never had any Malmsteen stories but he did work with Kip Winger once - who was apparently the biggest tool to ever set foot in a recording studio.

Yeah he can be a dick but his old stuff is golden. Fury…LOL another cool song

I think it’s funny when people get pissed off at big bloated rock stars for acting like big bloated rock stars. Does it really change how you feel about a song to find out the singer charges $50 for an autograph or refuses to do an interview unless he’s picked up in a stretch limo?

Also . . . . get us some Kip Winger stories, Peligro!!!

1986 brought on some cool shows. I saw them at the coliseum here on the Island and since I was in high school, one of the guys I went with was throwing up most of the Yngwie set…we had like 20 row. That show totally kicked ass. AC-DC was cool too. The cannons towards the end I remember well.

A must for true fans:
