I met Rick Wakeman in a bar in Seattle about 10 years ago. He was nice. Nice guy. A little drunk though. He told me his favourite film was The Wizard Of Oz.
He also drew a picture of a bear wearing a viking helmet on a napkin for me. I have no idea why or what it meant. Then again…he is Rick Wakeman.
Going through my rather massive record collection a few months ago, I was surprised to find that I actually owned a Yes album on vinyl (Going For The One). Funny because I have no memory of ever purchasing a Yes album.

I’ve owned a couple…but then, I was 14 when “Fragile” was released. I can recall hearing “Roundabout” on AM radio.

Punk band I used to manage had this fun game we used to play where someone would name four or five things and everybody had to draw a picture with all those things in it and then we pick the winner. That’s how the band got their mascot, a bear wearing a toupee smoking a blunt on an exercise bike.
