I’m referring to the fact that Chris actually wrote his book and didn’t tell a bunch of stories to a researcher and say “here, run, go do it.”

In other news . . .

^^Ha!

HAHAHAHA THE JOKE’S ON ME!!! I actually went looking for those. Thank God, you were joking.

to be fair, the korn guy doesnt say that he hates the cover, nor does he say that the cover was bad, he simply states that he hated that fans thought limpbizkit had written it. that is a fairly common reaction that fans of a band have when that band’s songs are covered by more popular acts…

that said, the limp bizkit cover of thieves is hilariously awesome. i signed up for the mailing list to get it. if you dont find it funny enough to love, i feel bad for ya. haha.

It’s better than all the ReMiXXX crap Ministry puts out where they butcher their own songs by letting Erie Load squirt diarrhea on a mixxxing board.

I think you forgot that most of those remixxx albums were done by Clayton Worbeck.

I didn’t forget anything. I just never cared. Erie is the only one I know for sure did remixxxes and I hated them. Plus he’s an easy target for other reasons.

I know Sammy did some remixes too, but I’ve actually liked a few of his that I’ve heard.

Limp Bizkit covering Thieves is still better than everything Ministry released post Paul. In fact Limp Bizkit doing a reggae version of a Coal Chamber track is still better than everything Ministry released post Paul.

Nope.

LOVE IT!!!

very flattering, plus it’ll drive Al nuts knowing I am getting $$$ for it, hilarious!!!

What was the reason he left/was sacked from Marilyn Manson? I was never a huge fan of his style to be honest, but at least he did have his own distinct style. While i liked Zim Zum he didn’t really bring that much to the band. John 5’s an amazing player though, i don’t think he really got a chance to stretch himself while he was with Manson but i respected him much more after watching some of his videos on Youtube.

Can you recall much of Daisy’s moaning or did you manage to tune him out eventually?

Well Scott Putesky aka Daisy Berkowitz is an interesting character. He’s kind of a hipster for lack of a better word, and not really at all what you think of when you think of Marilyn Manson. He brought that sort of fuzzed out psychedelic spooky kids thing to the mix early on and I guess when they transitioned to ‘Antichrist Superstar’ and the band got more serious, heavier, and concept-oriented he wasn’t into that transition.

You should read Manson’s book if you want to know the details, but basically what Scott said corroborated what I’d read in the book—they had artistic disagreements about ‘Antichrist Superstar’, the other guys were off doing coke with Reznor and Scott was kind of excluded, Twiggy began taking on guitar duties behind Scott’s back (he said the final straw was when he found that Twiggy had tracked the guitar for “Beautiful People”) also Reznor did indeed smash Scott’s guitar as it says in Manson’s book.

Basically he just didn’t fit in anymore and they were actively edging him out of the band. Manson claims he quit in the book but I believe that’s for legal reasons because they had a band contract where they were all guaranteed percentages…Scott certainly didn’t make it sound like he quit…

The whole thing sounds like they were really cruel to him, and he is a nice guy, but on the other hand he’s a very stubborn guy and is really stuck on this Spooky Kids thing which MM obviously had to outgrow to achieve stardom. He just didn’t fit into where MM was going. He wasn’t really willing to play along much and he’s kind of burnt all bridges since leaving MM.

Over the years he’s alternately trashed MM at every opportunity and told fans he was returning to the band. He seems to be stuck in this Spooky Kids thing perpetually. The context of my meeting him was that this mutual producer friend of ours introduced us and Scott wanted me to be the singer on old Spooky Kids songs they were re-doing for a new project called the Daisy Kids.

I got on with him well. We jammed and it was fun. We stayed in a hotel room over the weekend and drank a lot of beer. I was like “let’s make new songs” and so we did and we recorded some stuff but it’s all demos. He guitar playing style is really interesting but he keeps going back to these old riffs like suddenly I heard bits of old Spooky Kids stuff in what we were doing.

I dunno man the dude needs to move on in my opinion. Great guy but he seems really traumatized, bitter, and stuck on that part of his life.

Yeah, i read Manson’s book when it came out, a lot of years ago now i suppose, i’d totally forgotten about that stuff. I talked to Tommy Victor a few years ago after a Ministry show and he said he was at the Antichrist Superstar sessions as well. He thinks some of his guitar’s on The Beautiful People and a couple of others but isn’t sure due to time passed and the booze/other stuff that was flowing at the time.

Daisy’s sound had it’s place at the start, but i definitely think, like you say, that Manson outgrew that era and had to move on without him. I’m sure it wasn’t pleasant for him, Manson and Trent sound like arseholes at that point.

I think Kylie is doing “I wanted to tell her”…

wait…no…Kylie is writing a book about Al

Which has one page.

This makes the fact that he now has cancer even more sad.

Bad? I spent three and a half hours trying to impress a young blonde beach babe I met the other night, hoping to land me some snatch only to have her leave 10 minutes before we were supposed to head back to her place after her flatmate called to say she was stuck in the city with no way home.

And I was THAT close.
