Anyone else watching this? This is surprisingly good football. Tbh I think most people were expecting another dumpster fire but they’ve nailed it this time.
I love the pace of play and transparency. Something the NFL desperately needs to do.

I did. And I actually found it quite meh. I like the transparency you mentioned, but those 2 minute clock rules are shitty. All the int’s and dropped balls prove why these guys aren’t playing in the NFL.
Some teams look horrible I’ll give you that. But then you got the Battlehawks and Defenders who look like college teams on speed. The talent drop off is pretty evident. DC has Cardal Jones a legitimate dude and 3-4 other teams have a buncha bums
I do expect Dallas to bounce back when Landry Jones (has some big NFL wins under his belt with the Steelers) gets the start. They’re actually favorites to win it all.
This flamed out pretty quick. (as expected)
I had such high hopes. This time around they managed to get the football side right. This felt like a pro league,. My only gripe was the lack of star power to capture the casual fan this was why ratings kept dipping week to week but it was also something easily rectified. They could’ve tried to lure college stars like Trevor Lawrence or steal away a quality NFL back up or two.
Funny enough I hear Vince is trying to sell the league. Not sure who would buy it at this juncture
They declared bankruptcy, who’s going to invest in a sport that might not be able to be played for a long time?
I thought it went under because of covid not because of poor ratings
They shut it down because of COVID, but he declared bankruptcy like a week later. Meaning, he didn’t have the money to fund the full season, he was betting on big ratings and advertising dollars. It most likely would’ve shit the bed regardless of COVID.
And what I’ll never understand about all these pop-up faux football leagues is that they always try to follow the NFL season. When people have just watched an entire season. It doesn’t make any sense. When someone gets around to starting one in the summer, when people are itching for some football, then they might have a chance.
Vince had the money. It was reported that he was funding the league out of his own pocket. He fronted 500 million of his own money to meet payroll until they landed a tv deal.
The thing is Covid happened and threw a wrench in his plans. The uncertainty and economic repercussions of that left no room for error so he threw in the towel.
500 mil wouldve kept them rolling for 3 years. Covid fucked it up and Vince decided to keep his money.
Also their ratings were dropping but they were still above 1 million on average. Certainly doesn’t compare to the nfl but they do compete with most reg season nba games, nhl.
Probably stomped the WNBA ratings I bet.
Ha Ha! I just used this expression in another thread. great minds!!
You’d know you prob watch WNBA lol
No, but by the news clips there are more fans there than elvis ever got.
