A bizarre game but delighted to see Brazil out. Couldn’t understand how poor the defending was in the game, Brazil were absolutey shocking in the second half. They played so badly in the end it seemed they were playing on the back of a bribe.

Ghana was awarded a penalty shot in the 121st minute, after two headers were deflected first by the goalie, then by the HANDS of a Uruguayan player. The penalty shot went high off the crossbar, they went to penalty kicks, and Uruguay won 4-2. It was incredible to watch, and even though Ghana beat the U.S., I felt really bad for the way they lost.
Tomorrow morning’s match is Argentina vs. Germany, that is going to be EPIC. 10:00 AM EST, if you decide to tune in (ABC).

I saw it. If I was from Ghana I would kill myself. They would be the first African team in the semi finals. It’s a shame but that’s the beauty of the game, in one minute everything can change.

An important win for football. Match was horrendous and the Dutch were a rotten disgrace. Could do with a Spanish girlfriend right now.
Game almost put me to sleep. Nothing really happened until the extra time, when they actually started turning up the pace. Spain was missing so many opportunities, many. Screw up once more and finally luck out and score.

Well, at least we’ve got hockey in a couple of months… I might dabble and watch some league games, but yeah. It’ll be a long four years.
