That’s cool you found someone a few years younger on the mature side. I don’t even think about getting in a relationship with someone younger than me. All the girls (can’t really call them women) I meet that are any younger than me just don’t get it. I went after older women cuz I feel like they understand me better. Crystal almost does completely, but then you see the situation at hand. I think I might have to go back to chicks in my age range, but the chicks where I’m at don’t have much going on. The central part of Contra Costa County sucks ass.

I wasn’t making any correllation to your case. Just responding to a prior comment that I thought was arbitrary and irrelevant. Some people are ready to get married at 22, some at 30, some later, and some never.

And I still think you’re missing my main suggestion which is quit chasing after chicks altogether for now. It’s not about finding a lady that understands you. Understand yourself first. And get some confidence. Because you’ve already said multiple times that you want a woman who will mother you. I think that comes from lack of confidence in yourself. You don’t think you’re in a position to be the MAN in a relationship, and that’s okay. You’re starting to at least recognize yourself.

But with that being said . . . you ain’t ready for a relationship. Grow up and learn to be independent and confident on your own first.

I think you missed my response to voidhead. In it I said I’m not looking because of the whole wanting to be taken care of shit. I don’t really have time for a relationship right now. I just wanna focus on making music. I wanna get a single out before the end of the year. That’s my only goal in life right now. Well, short term anyways.

I remember the other post from the Ask Gunnar thread a while back, and I’m gonna go ahead and echo one of the sentiments in that it’s definitely best to sever ties, because baggage like that for the sake of having some mother-type thing to stick it to (crude, I know, but I think I get a free pass because fuck me, been there, done that, ain’t no fun) is just about the worst thing you can do to yourself.

Chicks are goofy, dude, and relationships just as much. The only healthy relationship I’ve ever had happens to be with the only chick I’ve ever been with that wasn’t older than me, and it’s been strictly friends with benefits for almost two years now. It’s weird, and still takes some rationalizing and etc. sometimes, but it WORKS for us, and more importantly, works for ME. Who cares what people, much less myself, thinks. If it feels good and doesn’t hurt/harm anyone or anything, boom. You win.

I get the sentiment that younger broads are less mature. To an extent, I get that, but the thing is with most women that are considered cougars is that they have a very similar fear/approach to life that the scummy 20-something fucking high school girls does: they simply don’t want to or can’t grow up, and are mortally afraid of losing those last vestiges of youth, so they gotta SUCK it right the fuck outta us.

Don’t get me wrong. I LOVELOVELOVE older chicks. When they’re sensible and realistic about the whole thing, say/believe that age is just a number, and can simultaneously juggle responsibilities AND dreams to back that up, they’re fucking INCREDIBLE. But when you’ve got a situation like yours truly right now where there’s this fifty-year-old broad that’s DTF because you’re potentially so much more innocent and less experienced and OH BOY, IT’S JUST LIKE HAVING A KID AGAIN EXCEPT HE CAN EAT MY SNATCH, that’s where I say FUCK THAT.

tl;dr: The right chick(s) is/are out there, dude. You just gotta let things happen, and sometimes hit life upside the dome and TAKE it.
