Wolverhampton...Last UK Gig?!

Well, well, can you contain your excitement?

I arrived just as ‘I’m Not Gay’ plays over the PA and the houselights dim…here we go…am I about to be flattened by ‘Breathe’? Is ‘The Missing’ going to finally fuck my hearing forever? Will ‘Filth Pig’ get me leaping around in unbounded joy?

Er…no.

Yep, you guessed it, same old set list with NO deviation. Well played, the rhythm section and Sin played exceptionally well, sound eventually came through, entertaining in and of itself, BUT (and you know what’s coming folks)…

I couldn’t help but feel a little cheated, I so wanted to enjoy the show for what it was, and I guess I did…but as many of our American friends had already said ‘we know you don’t like Bush Al, get over it and roast us with some greatest hits’!!

Yes, I ventured into the pit for a chug around during the old stuff (SW, NWO, J1F, T) but still came away feeling that Jourgensen was taking the piss. I mean, ‘What A Wonderful World’? Really?

I was also a little amazed at AJ’s apparent Ozzy impression. Not much stage movement (never really was anyway), he seemed a little fucked frankly, apparently holding onto the mic stand for dear life at some points during the show, is he not well? Has life in the AJ lane caught up with him at last? He did not look well at all.

And as for Tommy Victor? Posturing and generally fucking up - his playing during ‘So What’ was frankly awful - he was all over the place. All this gesticulating over the fence…come on over here then Tommy, gesture at us up close you idiot! I don’t remember him being like that at Prong shows I saw back in the Ted Parsons days.

All in all, thank you and goodnight Ministry. I’ve been lucky enough to see you when you were a little more on your game. I overhead lots of fans after the gig saying it was a great gig, so what do I know?

ozzy’s kid did his vocals offstage for a long while.
who’s gonna do al’s.
none of you guys may believe this, but i wish al would REALLY get a grip. get sober. stop with the posturing that will eventually(if not already) be a caricature. yeah he burned a lot of people, but if he really thought he was getting anywhere NEAR sobriety he wouldn’t be doing the shit he’s up to now.
angie is the biggest enabler i have ever had the displeasure of encountering.

Isnt Ireland also a part of the UK?
So the last UK gig is actually Dublin

Cool review anyway. Ill be seeing them at Hellfest in France and then probably in Warsaw (second to last show ever).

As I said in my original post, Al just did not look healthy; he really seemed to be struggling with it all.
Very sad.

Sorry Big J…Northern Ireland IS in UK…Ireland/Eire is another country.

Sorry, I’m being a bloody teacher again!

Hmm my bad then.

The English (Anglo Normans) colonised Ireland in the late 12th century, and Ireland became known as the Kingdom of Ireland. In 1800 the Act of Union combined the Kingdom of Ireland with the United Kingdom of Great Britain. In 1922, 26 of the 32 Irish counties received independence from Britain and became known as Eire, the 6 remaining counties becoming Northern Ireland. In 1949 Eire became the Republic of Ireland.

C’mon give Al a break.

The guy definately looked like he’d put on weight to me…but to be fair to the man he’s coming to the end of a pretty gruelling tour where you’re eating crap everyday, drinking copius amounts of red wine and doing a shitload of travelling.

I was happy with his performance at Glasgow (apart from the obvious)…this is Al remember not Crazy Legs, so i wasn’t expecting any breakdancing or moon walking!

With the setlist thing i think the people (including myself) who were bitterly dissapointed with it were definately a minority from what i saw at Glasgow??? Maybe i’m wrong???

is he’s been putting on weight he’s probably not on heroin if that’s what you people are implying… junkies don’t eat and when they do they throw it up… maybe he’s a heavy drinker

No one was implying he was on the hammer again.

I believe people were ripping into him for eating and drinking too much and not doing the boogie down bronx during his gigs.

maybe he’s a heavy drinker

No “maybe” about it.
Late,

I believe like myself, Al is a “Binge drinker”.

C’mon give Al a break.

saw them at manchester academy , played the same set, most people enjoyed themselves, would like to have ministry play more older stuff

Yeah exactley. The crowd in Glasgow was huge and i swear i was basically the only one booing the covers and yelling for the classics. Everyone else minus a few were absolutely loving it. I loved it too but hell yeah i booed the covers and screamed at Al for Filth Pig/Stigmata etc etc.

Next time pretend you are… a war torn Orc barking siege orders to 10,000 fighting Uruk Hais ready to storm the gates to Lothlorien and spirit away all elf maidens fair.

EPIC.

They make raspberry filled Twinkies?
