My friend…the legend Bernie Worell rip…your contribution to music and humanity is immeasurable…devastating loss…
A real pioneer. RIP.
holy fuck, queer, you knew him?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
I just read that as friend in the sense that we get a familiar and familial bond with the artists we love even if we don’t actually know them.
I think of a lot of my heroes as friends too.
Actually knew him quite well…I used to work for an underground label in Brooklyn called Wordsound…the bassist and producer Bill Laswell was heavily involved with the label(Tomasz knows the history)…even giving them the first $1000 for start up money…he was Laswell’s most used session musician…I met him through that association and we shared many a fun night hanging out after gigs etc…I helped him with some stuff one night at a gig at the old Knitting Factory and we hit it off and stayed in touch up until about 6 months ago when he got sick…
The word genius gets thrown around way to often but the man actually was one…he was doing full symphonic concerto’s at age 8…a very sweet, humble and unassuming man who treated everyone with respect…the world lost a great one and a true original and I am very sad to see him go…he leaves behind an amazing and prolific legacy…
Sorry for the loss of your friend, Brother.
That is really cool that you guys got to know each other and spend some proper time and memories together, though.

That really is awesome. I had no idea he was that brilliant from a young age. To repeat what Gunnar said, very sorry for your loss and hope you’re all doing okay.
Thank you,Evil…
