I knew it was al but only because a long time ago (maybe even on the old board) there was a thread about it. But back then i was just as shocked you all. I too used to think it was a statue.
Yeah, you’re not the only one…and that’s why the guys who put out the “Twitched” acetate-sourced CD tried to imitate the original album cover by using a somewhat similar-looking half-blurry picture of some statue. But it kind of worked, and didn’t look half bad - unlike their choice to use a later period photo of Al and Paul (who wasn’t even on Twitch/Twitched!) on the back cover. Why do bootleggers always screw that kind of thing up?
Anyway, regarding the LA gallery show…as luck would have it, I will be down there for Star Wars Celebration in Anaheim at that time, so I’ll be doing everything in my power to make it over to the show. For once I’ll actually be pleased to see Uncle Al, since he’s obviously been willing to own up to his past lately. I might even shake the man’s hand if he’s not being a jackhole! Maybe I’ll run into one or two of you there.

Nice! The Star Wars Celebrations are always fun, I went to the one in 2005 for Episode III. Rumor has it they’ll be premiering the new trailer at some point.
But yeah, super jealous that you’re going to both! Be sure to share some pics
personally I’m glad Al is even acknowledging this era, and even supporting it. that’s more exciting then the same ol’ same ol’ for the past decade. (to me, anyway )
Unfortunately, it looks as if I will be cancelling my trip to see this. I figured Al would be there, and I know that I will regret not being able to see him in a non-concert/non-‘vip’ m&g setting.
I’m trying to find a way to make it [specifically back in time for somethnig I need to do here, several hours away from L.A], but it doesn’t seem as if I will.
It’s kismet, ya know…something like this is just beautiful. I’ve said it many times…Al Jourgensen will be remembered for the WaxTrax period and the With Sympathy daze too…even more so than the obvious Land of Rape & Honey until Filth Pig era.
I should also mention the landmark TWITCH LP & fruitful side projects of the early period as well…all that early stuff is like a treasure right now…a fucking vault of priceless jewels & gold that Al is still trying to forget.
He is a deplorable unforgivable sad broken man [:(]
