Definitely an interesting release, since the previous CD re-issue was short lived.

Cool. I wonder who gets the royalties / proceeds these days when they reissue WS.

I wonder too.
Didn’t Al used to say that he bought the title and all the masters so he could destroy them?

Something tells me he may have realized that it’s a little funner to get paid a lot of money for something you own instead of just talking shit about it all the time.

I won’t be buying it. I still think it’s crap. But I do find it interesting that Al has even said in recent interviews that he’s now acknowledging and starting to embrace “With Sympathy”.

I’m sure a lot of gently-used vinyl copies are still for sale for less than $10 on ebay.

No way Al bought the masters to that thing, he was being sued by Arista not vice versa. They probably got absorbed by BMG or something…

I’m a little confused on the whole rights issue. With Sympathy is owned (I think) by Sony/BMG. They released a remastered CD a few years back with bonus tracks. Then Angie said something about stopping the release, and now it’s impossible to get a hold of, even online.

Then Cleo released a couple demos that are the same as the With Sympathy versions, only slightly longer. So for a second there, I thought they had the rights.

At this point, I really have no idea.

Licensed from SONY/BMG basically. Eastworld also re-issued Pigface in 2/3 disc sets years ago as well. It’s really a matter of getting permission and probably paying for a certain amount of units to sell under your own label and then just getting it done.

From what I’d heard, I thought that Al had basically just sold a bunch of old demos, early live stuff, etc. to Cleo. Cleo will put out pretty much any floor sweepings and dumpster linings they can get.

I’m a bit shocked Cleo hasn’t compiled, remixed, and re-released the hell out of those Trax! Box cuts by now.

They’re probably still wondering how to sell off the rest of the dumb box sets left over from last years Record Store Day.

Wouldn’t it make more sense for them to put Animositisomina or Houses of the Molé on vinyl?

awesome. so the re-release of w/symp with the three extra tracks is no longer available?

Not I.

Not I.

I’m sure they’re just trying to figure out how to get the checks to you. There’s really no other possible explanation.

LOL…I don’t see this really selling any major quantities.

It needs to sell at least a thousand copies before Al will consider signing it.

I’ll settle for an artist’s copy.

It’s obvious he’d acknowledge this album at all due to its massive cult status…its revered as a classic despite his ill-feelings toward it. Furthermore, he’s glad to earn the revenue from it regardless of hating it as he often proclaimed.

Funny cuz he recently sang WS’s praises at that Surgical Meh Machine listening party where only 3 or 4 skank-Fans showed up, lol.

Further proof that he’s not Mentally well nor of sound mind to have one iota of what to do or at least the proper thing to do.

If he wasn’t so burnt, he’d relearn all his own songs and take this early incarnation of ministry back on the road but he definitely doesn’t have the ammunition nor the chops to pull that off.

Best thing you’ll get out of Al is the throaty submerged frog lodged in larynx VOX & generic power chords to lumbering off time drums (that’s right: Aaron Rossi sucks) [pirate]
