Montreal! Yes!

why is everybody going to canada, i wonder. must be the cash. looks like i can’t make any of these shows. rats.

Oh my god, I would love to see this. Wire are badass. It’s hard to believe a band who put out “Pink Flag” 20 years ago can put out something like “Send” five years ago, it’s mindblowing.

aren’t you in nyc? they just played here a bunch of weeks ago, a free show at the seaport. wasn’t all that impressed, but that’s just me…

One thing remains perfectly clear, its the buzz buzz buzz in the drum of the ear.

Is Send worth picking up? Ive heard ‘The Art of Stopping’ and was impressed by it. Im led to believe its their most ‘lively’ album yet.

Send is good, but the new one, Object 47, is better. Just came out like a week or two ago. It’s less noisy and more melodic than the Read and Burn EPs. It mostly reminiscent of the first 3 albums, but one of the songs reminds me of Finest Drops a little bit (minus the synth bass). I still like their Phase II material (86-90) the best.

yeah i missed it. whoops. at least i got to see that free Sonic Youth gig…

Just downloaded ‘One of Us’ from Object 47 (www.pinkflag.com) and im really liking it. If it was a song by a younger pop band it would be on the radio all the time. Im glad its Wire though; its amazing how so many bands (esp. British ones) copy Wire and get away with it. NIN, particularly the With Teeth album, uses Wire sounds as well. I once asked Trent about this on his website… I didnt get a reply.

Also I think Al Jourgensen was trying to plagarise ‘The Art of Stopping’ with ‘No W’ with the “Trust me” lines… they are sung very similarly. Though Newman on ‘TAoS’ does sound similar to the vox style of RevCo’s ‘Razor’s Edge’.

what a lot of people don’t get is that al’s old comrades have all left him because a) they didn’t want to work for free and b)they called him on the music "influences’ he was getting into.nobody worth their salt wants to do a rehash of anything.
