Just back from Wire gig @ Cab Vol and I have a new favourite band. I’ve heard bits and bobs of Wire over the years (they’ve been around since 76) but I’ve never had the pleasure of catching them live…until now. And man they were friggin incredible!!!
They just rocked so damn hard and did it with such finess. I can’t even begin to tell you how insanely good this band is live so please find out for yourself if you get the chance.
Boiling Boy was the highlight for me…it was mesmerising and absolutely punishing!!!
They’re heading to North America shortly so catch these legends if you can.
Yes he is creating a sinister guitar tone via his iPhone 4 if you were wondering…
Sadly Wire leaves the building…
On the way home I pass Scott Monument and decide I have to take a few photos as it looks totally bad-ass at night…Ming The Merciless would LOVE this building!!!
The first three Wire releases are essential, for anyone wanting to get into new territory of sound they are must haves… admittedly, the 80s stuff onward is crap to me, though with “Send” and “Objekt 47” they have made a return to form.
Killer, thanks for posting. Great set list, very encouraging to see them playing the phase 2 material again. Gonna make the roadie to see them when they come to the States. The new album is awesome, highly recommended.

Either Portland or San Francisco in April, those are my two best options on the west coast. I was holding out for an L.A. date - so I haven’t bought a ticket yet - but I think the tour is pretty much mapped at this point.

I need to hear the new LP.
Thank you very much JLW for pointing me towards these three albums!
They rock, always happy to discover “new” music.
This is the style that get´s me on at the moment along with Magazine, XTC and all these great punk/new wave bands that appeared the 2nd half of the 70´s.
