Preorder is not up yet, but IIRC Angie merely told us “February,” so it’s technically not late.
I don’t actually know these things, but my guess is that it would be perfectly legal for 13th Planet proceed with the release of Got Cock? as originally planned. I’m guessing it might be intentionally delayed a bit depending on how long it takes them to reestablish their online presence.
I suppose they don’t have to ever release it if they are not interested in promoting that lineup of RevCo. Has Al had any problem in the past releasing music made with collaborators he was no longer on good terms with?
crap i completely forgot about the rediculous packaging they were planning on using… probably to try to get a grammy nod (al likes those) for best packaging…
and given 13th planets history of manufacturing errors this probably COULD be the mistake that puts the last nail in the coffin
RevCo break up has nothing to do with releasing music. It’s pretty certain that 13th Planet has the rights not the musicians. 13th Planet can likely do whatever it wishes with Got Cock.
well, this next comment has nothing to do with 13th planet…
lets say there is a record label that tells the band members it has no money to even release a new album so the band members all chip in for that.
which this record label states they the musicians have rights to the music until paid in full.
then a few weeks later they see the owners of this label have done all sorts of bullshit…like buy shit they shouldnt have the money for…old band members from the past reappear because they have finally got paid for what they did way back when.
things like that.
again not at all to do with 13th planet… just saying.
Unless someone saw something that I didn’t, the only “lineup” that was mentioned was via Rabidchicken. Take it as you will . . . .
i am no spokesperson for 13th planet by the way.
i will have nothing to do with them.
i thought i saw some sort of new ad somewhere for special mark thawhwwawawawa tracks with the pre-order…which is now adding to my saying that is a new revco person…get ready for some members from blown load too…
They have a solo Al track in the “deluxe” version, don’t they? I think they should just revco die already. It’s not selling, so why not just call it something else?

some people already realize that and are calling themselves “capt. bigshot”[laugh]
whether 13th has the rights to relase the cd depends on what is in the contract. I know the name belongs to al and he made them sign that thing to have a line-up change every few years. Wonder if he did a pete steel and put in that once you leave the band you forfeit your money from the cds to him, and then after a certain amount of time all royalties go to him.
those record companies got lawyers who job it was just to fuck over people and get more money… i’m sure marteeen or somebody could have explained a thing or 2 to al to make things work in his benefit.
also look at how many posthominous cds we get from like tupac and biggie in rap, and in general even if a band breaks up they still sometimes got enough material to cover the remaining albums owed in the contracts clause (at the lease a best of or 3 with a new track on each, like alice in chains before the new guy)
Anyone that supplies ANY goods or services without a written contract or purchase order, whether it be for making a song, sewing a pair of socks, or unclogging my crapper, is an idiot.
