Who's touring with Ministry? Thrill Kill Kult?

According to the Pharr Events Center they are…

I’ve not heard anything yet. I think they’ll likely just pick up whatever local scrubs want to pay them for the opportunity to have me scream for them to get off the stage.

At the Mexico gigs they just played without openers, apparently. I couldn’t give two craps about the opening bands anyway, so starting early so I can get my Denny’s Grand Slam Breakfast before 2am is all right by me!

TKK is not opening. It was reported somewhere for a few of the Texas dates, but TKK was quick to deny it on FB.

The Hunger? That band still exists? Do they still love Jesus? That’s a weird blast from the past…

I think they even posted on Ministry’s timeline about it. This Ministry tour is starting to crack me up with false reports of openers. First it was Laibach, now TKK. Who’s next? Cocksure? The Melvins?

Does anyone remember, in '96, when “Filth Pig” came out, Jourgensen kept running off his mouth in interviews about getting Soundgarden to open for them? Did I hallucinate that, or was he seriously talking about SOUNDGARDEN, who had a #1 Billboard album to their name and were playing arenas by that point?

Maybe I shoulda realized then how out of touch he really was. Or maybe that’s a put-on, too. He claims he strictly listens to country/western and classic rock, but industrial music like “The Land Of Rape And Honey” doesn’t create itself in a vacuum.

I’m hoping for Miley Cyrus so I can go all retro and get my twerk on…

He has a tendency to blank out on referencing different artists, much like that Beck thing everyone was going on about in that Spin interview years ago (btw, he thought Beck’s dad was Jeff Beck, that’s why he was gushing to him - yes I remember the interview).

For example, in 2003 he was stating he was gonna have Motorgrator and the Flaming Lips open on their tour - eventually it turned out it was In Flames [laugh]

Big Wax a Trax reunion as A Split Second opens for the tour.

According to the new marquis at the Bomb Factory in Dallas, a band called Avatar is openining.

I have no idea who or what Avatar is, but I feel like I know everything about these chodes just from their generic crappy name.

I don’t think it’s going to be Avatar.

Assuming both these “Avatar” bands are the same, they will be on their own tour during the US Ministry dates… Maybe TX was the only overlapping date?

Yeah, they don’t appear to be the tour opener, just the Dallas date.

El Paso date showing TKK: http://www.trickyfalls.com/event/793615-ministry-el-paso/

Ministry is in Toronto on June 17 and TKK is in Toronto on June 28. I have no idea who Ministry’s opening act is for that show, if they even plan to have one.

Still no word on the Anaheim opener.

Still no word on the Anaheim opener.

Actually, I think I saw it listed somewhere . . . it wasn’t anything memorable or that I’d recognized at all, though.

Well, that’s [url https://twitter.com/ministrytour/status/583029548393971712]settled.

Verdict on the street about the current Ministry Tour is not good, folks. I saw this coming from miles away. The only good songs on FBTE are “change of luck”, “thnx but no thnx” & “lesson unlearned”. They don’t touch these songs but instead play the boring and generic thrash metal garbage off the album. “Punch in the face” is sort of fun but God it’s so trite and contrived of atypical industrial rock even for Ministry. Almost feels like Gravity Kills does this song but with death metal vocals…insipid & cliche’.

The tickets are way overpriced, especially considering that they only play 4 classic songs which are played out to death by now…even “So What” sounds tired & decrepit now. If the fucktard can’t bring himself to do stuff off Twitch or the Abundance of unreleased synth-pop gems along w/WaxTrax catalog, at least do the industrial classics.

Where’s :::
Stigmata, Flashback, You Know What You Are, Land Of Rape & Honey, Burning Inside, Breathe, Cannibal Song, Bloodlines, What About Us, Jesus Built My Hotrod, Scarecrow, Psalm 69, Bad Blood, Eureka Pile, Nursing home, Supermanic Soul, Broken, Light Pours out of me, Smothered hope, Supernaut, Reload, Lay lady lay, Game Show, Lockbox, Unsung, Animosity, Paisley, Brick Windows, Filth Pig, Worm, World, The Great Satan, The Missing, Deity, Hizbollah, Never Believe, Corrosion, Tonight We Murder, Fucked, Happy Dust, Friend Of The Devil, Leper, I Prefer…

So much exceptional material to draw from even if he avoids the early Nuwave stuff all together (which is preposterous but ya can’t expect too much from an imbecilic lowlife)…and so with this qualm, the current tour is a complete waste of time and money.

It should also be noted that the Ministry fan page recently lost in the ballpark of 20,000 likes, OUCH! I guess that’s the proof in the pudding, hey!? [:/] [:|]

BTW, Frankie Nardiello (Groovie Mann) has disowned Al Jourgensen due to various betrayal issues…those guys were tight back in their prime and even toured together in 2004 but since Al bashed Frangooch in his book, it’s been ultra-mega Goodbyes ever since…more proof that Uncle Fuckwad is an ungrateful worthless piece of human trash. [:P]

You’re an idiot.

Your so-called “word-on-the-street” is public information that can be checked by looking at the ticket price on Ticketmaster and checking the setlists on setlist.fm.

From people who’ve actually SEEN the show, they’ve said it’s pretty good and that Al is more energetic and together (AKA not a complete stumbling drunk) than the past 3 tours.

If you don’t like the setlist, you don’t have to see the show. The ticket price, if you think Ministry sucks now and your opinion is set in stone, is pretty irrellevant. I refuse to pay anything for a band I don’t like, and if I know I’m gonna have a great time or I’m a long time fan of the band, then $50-$80 for a ticket is certainly not something I’m going to complain about.

You got a bee in your bonnet about Al and nu-Ministry. Well, good for you. Go join the club now consisting of about a million members who claim to hate Ministry and that the band is not worth their time or money . . . and who spend hours online making sure we all know just how much they no longer care about this band.

You’re about as generic as corn flakes, Dina.
