NYHC is great
youthful aggression at its best.
various Ministry boots. Portishead. Cocteau Twins. NYC hardcore such as very early Prong, Cro-Mags, DRI, Agnostic Front etc. Beth Gibbons & Rustin Man. Black Sabbath. Sonic Youth.
Actually just started listening to Sonic Youth again. Just hearing more of their later stuff now: good stuff.

I love old Sonic Youth, Bad Moon Rising is an excellent album, slow and and full of menace. Death Valley 69 is an amazing song (and video). Everything up through Goo is great but I can’t get into much of the stuff after that. I haven’t even tried the last couple of albums, are they any good?
the new portishead that recently leaked is excellent.
alcest - souvenirs d’un autre monde has been on heavy rotation. new shoegazy stuff.
never listened to mush sisters of mercy before but i’ve been digging “first and last and always” a lot lately.
saw “a place to bury strangers” recently and they blew me away live. best $8 show i’ve been to since the 90s.
jizz - let me know if u still need that bleak album. i have the mp3s somewhere (huge lycia fan)
speaking of turntables, i just bought this:
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00012EYNG?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&tag=cnet-ce-20&linkCode=asn
to replace my very old shitty technics. price just dropped from $240 to $159 last week.
i just got the new coil 4lp with the official release of some of the backwards shit. plan on ripping that this weekend.
the new portishead that recently leaked is excellent.
didnt know that had leaked yet. i thank you, sir.

sonic nurse is fuckign class.
Portishead is FUCKING boring!
Up, Bustle And Out kicks their ass BIG time!
Jim Barr (Portishead) has played bass for them for a few years now…no wonder i’d want to play for them too after playing with PotisZZZzzzzZZZZzzzzHead.
Up, Bustle And Out actually do something exciting by travelling the world and recording with shit-hot local musicians then taking the product back to Bristol and mixing it to create a PHATT BADASS BEAST OF A RECORD!!!
Do yourself a favour and burn your yawn inducing Portishead records and buy Up, Bustle And Out records which actually feature cool exciting music via HUGE breaks, funky PHATT devastating bass and killer percussion from around the world!
What a bunch of panzy drones you are…even Jizzim jumped in giving big ups to Portishead…what a raging drag-queen!
Here we go again.
Why do you think insulting someone’s musical opinions will cause that opinion to change? “By golly, Maggittooth is right! My taste in music DOES suck!”
My taste in music DOES suck!"
You said it not me.
Go buy something cool ad join the cool club.
I get the feeling that Maggittooth’s “cool club” resembles a remedial reading class.
Jizzim…you wouldn’t know an Up, Bustle And Out disc if it stood up in your soup!

Yeah…full of guys who’d call you a ‘fag’ for not liking Pantera.

Pantera is for pussies!!!
The cool club is strictly Dubstep and Godflesh/Jesu fans.[cool]
I’ve always considered Pantera a decent band, but overly too overrated. They DID have some good songs, but it’s nothing i’d cream my pants for. And I finally got around to listening to Godflesh…The s/t, pure and a couple others…safe to say I prefer Jesu over Godflesh any day. Some good stuff there, but some it’s just a little boring (has yet to grow on me, at least).
And right now i’ve diverted into a bit of a bowie phase now (Low and Heroes mainly). Damn it’s fucking good!
Jizzim…you wouldn’t know an Up, Bustle And Out disc if it stood up in your soup!
What the fuck does that MEAN???
Please… a little coherence is all I ask. [:)]
listening to:
Mayhem - Deathcrush (e.p)
Whitehouse - Asceticists
Twilight - Twilight
Einsturzende Neubauten - Kalte Sterne

Yeah those early Flesh albums are very against the grain and hard to swallow for alot of people…they definately take a few listens to grow on you. If you want to get nailed immediately pick up the Godflesh albums “Songs Of Love And Hate” and “Us And Them”…they will fucking destroy you and steal your heart straight away.
[You should also get your facts straight. Jim Barr was never a member of Portishead. He was a hired hand
Yeah well Paul Barker was a hired hand for Ministry and listen to what happened to them without the “hired hand”. Regardless Portishead is boring music for posers who try and act all intellectual.
[/reply]I take it that even the PA doesn’t want you anymore?[/reply]
Yeah they stopped being big crybabies so you are perfect[cool]
