for whatever goofy reason, throbbing gristle always reminded me of early velvet underground. i can live with both. comfortably now. not when i first heard them.
oh, btw, the jackson five’s abc did a classic number on me. back when.
OH SHIT!! I can’t believe I overlooked this one!
“Slug Bait” the ICA performance by Throbbing Gristle
That song seriously gave me nightmares for at least a week…[:|]

That’s a real shame considering it was their best album?[cool]
Chocolate Rain; Tay Zonday
Terror. Contempt. Freedom…
incarnate.
Some stay dry, and others… FEEL THE PAIN.

Neubauten - Kollaps
It opened up a whole new world for me, Kollaps is something that values ideas over your usaul industrial techno beats.

No, that’s still Pure [:)]. I can’t knock on SOLAH though. The live drums polarize a lot of fans. I think it was a brave stylistic turn for Broadrick to use them as well as incorporate so many other instrumental flourishes in those songs. To my ears it’s definitely the most eclectic of Godflesh’s output.
As said earlier, definitely “Hamburger Lady” and most of the rest of the D.O.A. album by TG.
Also basically the Strategy Against Architecture album from Einsturzende Neubauten, especially the first few times I heard it.
Some of the songs on the first 2 Suicide albums was ominious but not exactly terrifying, though a good case can be made for some of the early Swans stuff.
The first few times I heard SP’s Bites album, “Deadlines” and “The Choke” kinda got to me. Same with Ministry’s “Cannibal Song”.
More recently, delving deep into the Cabaret Voltaire backcatalogue has yielded a few creepy moments, especially the earlier raw material on the Living Legends and Methodology compilations.

Their best album is ‘Hymns’. It may not feature their best songs but it is the most consistent and satisfyingly coarse album they ever did.
Oh it’s all gone opinions here. What’s new

You all are liars. “Selfless” is still the best of their canon… regardless of how much I spin SOLAH and Streetcleaner lately.
